Summary: Samsung seems to be developing the One UI 7 Watch update for its smartwatches and could launch a Beta program soon. A couple of X users have already spotted the firmware builds for the new update for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra on the company’s servers.

Samsung hasn’t yet rolled out the One UI 7 experience to loads of the Galaxy smartphones and tablets. But, it hasn’t stopped the company from working on a One UI 7 Watch Beta software for its smartwatches. While the South Korean tech giant is yet to announce anything officially, a couple of X users have spotted the One UI 7 Watch Beta firmware on Samsung’s servers.

Samsung could soon start the One UI 7 Watch Beta program

X users Theordysm and Alfatürk have spotted the One UI 7 Watch Beta firmware builds for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. The Beta firmware build for the Watch 7 carries the identification “L310XXU1ZYDA.” For Galaxy Watch Ultra, the One UI Beta build is “L705USQU1ZYDA”.

Samsung’s US SW server lists the firmwares, suggesting that the Beta program will launch in the States alongside South Korea. These are the first Beta firmware builds that people have spotted on the company’s servers, and they will change over time during the testing phase.

One UI 7 Watch could be based on the upcoming Wear OS 6 update

As of now, not much information is available about Samsung’s next-gen smartwatch OS update. However, we can expect One UI 7 Watch will be based on the upcoming Wear OS 6 version, which Google should roll out later this year. If we believe the reports, Wear OS 6 could replace Google Assistant with Google’s Gemini artificial assistant.

Recently, an APK teardown of the Google app version 16.14.39 revealed that Wear OS 6 could introduce a new Raise to Talk feature. As its name suggests, this functionality could summon Google Assistant or Gemini as you raise your hand to look at your Galaxy Watch. You should be able to talk to the virtual assistant, ask it queries, or command it to trigger a task.

Furthermore, One UI 7 Watch will likely offer a similar design language to the One UI 7 update for Samsung phones and tablets. So, you can expect to see better animations and new user interface elements. That said, we can expect Samsung to kick off the new Beta software program for its smartwatches in the next couple of months, so stay tuned.
