Samsung recently released an official Galaxy S23 FE teaser, but the new Fan Edition phone doesn’t have a launch date yet. Meanwhile, leaks about the phone are getting more detailed than ever, giving us everything we need to know about it. Today, we have its alleged price for the US, and you might be surprised by the reported figure.
According to an exclusive report from MySmartPrice, Samsung will price the Galaxy S23 FE at $599 in the US. That’s $100 cheaper than the previous two FE phones: the Galaxy S21 FE (2022) and Galaxy S20 FE (2020). The Galaxy S10 Lite, which arrived in January 2020 as the company’s first “affordable flagship” was also more expensive.
The report doesn’t state the cost of the new FE phone in other markets. However, a tipster recently claimed that the device will cost the same as its predecessor in India. While that’s a bummer for Indian consumers, the reported price drop in the US is huge. The device will bring a handful of changes and upgrades while costing less than expected.
Galaxy S23 FE rumored specs
For a quick recap, the Galaxy S23 FE features a 6.4 or 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display (the same as the regular Galaxy S23 flagships) with a 120Hz refresh rate and an FHD+ resolution (2340×1080 pixels). The display reportedly boasts a peak brightness of 1450 nits. Samsung has equipped the phone with an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The device is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2200 chipset in most global markets and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the US, China, and a few other regions (both were previously used on the Galaxy S22 series). We are expecting up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage here. The phone reportedly has a Vapor Chamber area of 4,000 mm² for efficient cooling during heavy usage.
Coming to the cameras, the phone sports a 50MP primary rear camera, an 8MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP selfie camera. The Galaxy S23 FE will also give you stereo speakers, an IP67/IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Android 13. The whole package is fueled by a 4,500mAh battery with 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
Earlier leaks have said that Samsung will offer this phone in black/graphite, white, lime/green/mint, and purple colors. It appears these will be the global variants. The company also plans to offer at least two special edition colors: blue/indigo and orange/tangerine. If history is any indication, the latter two options should be limited to its official website and app. Stay tuned for the Galaxy S23 FE’s much-awaited unveiling later this month or in early October.
