Samsung‘s Galaxy Fit 3 can’t stop leaking, it seems. The upcoming fitness tracker has recently leaked through several channels, including the company’s official website. The leaks have revealed its design, key specs, features, and alleged pricing. Another source has just bared it all, going deeper into its specs and feature set. An official launch date is still missing.
Fresh Galaxy Fit 3 leak bares it all before the launch
The folks at TheTechOutlook got their hands on Samsung’s official staff training and marketing material for the Galaxy Fit 3, revealing everything about the device. It features a 1.6-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a 256 x 402 pixels resolution and 302 PPI screen density. The display has 2.5D curved glass protection, while the body is made of aluminum. Samsung ships the device with over 100 pre-loaded watch faces.
The Galaxy Fit 3 boasts IP68 and 5ATM ratings for strong dust and water resistance. Unlike Samsung’s smartwatches, it doesn’t run on Wear OS. Instead, the fitness tracker is powered by a custom OS that doesn’t let you download apps. Unsurprisingly, it comes with a modest amount of RAM (16MB) and onboard storage (256MB). Samsung has equipped the device with a 208mAh battery rated to last 13 days on a single charge on moderate usage.
The watch features Pogo pins on its back for charging. The charging speed isn’t known but Samsung says 30 minutes of charging will refill the battery from 0 to 65%. The upcoming Samsung wearable features a side button and supports gesture navigation. It has a one-click strap design. The device can alert you to incoming calls and messages on your connected smartphone, with the ability to reply to messages directly from your wrist.
The Galaxy Fit 3 also supports Samsung’s camera controller app for wearables (available when paired with a Galaxy phone) and boasts music playback controls. It boasts Bluetooth v5.3 for connectivity, so you should get a reliable connection. The device lacks a built-in speaker, GPS, NFC, and Wi-Fi. The wearable measures 42.9 x 28.8 x 9.9mm in dimension and weighs 36.8 grams. Samsung will offer it in Gray, Silver, and Pink Gold colors.
The new Fit offers a wide range of health features
The Galaxy Fit 3 can track 101 different workouts and exercises, with automatic detection for six of them. It also offers a wide range of health features, including heart rate monitoring and alerts, stress monitoring, blood oxygen monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking and prediction, snoring detection, sleep analysis, sleep coaching, fall detection, and more. You get emergency SOS and Find My Device features as well.
The device can sync all health data with the Samsung Health app on your smartphone (needs a Samsung Account). Signing in with a Samsung Account also lets you back up and restore data when you switch devices. The Galaxy Fit 3 has already reached retail stores in some countries. It shouldn’t be long before the Korean firm officially takes wraps off the new fitness tracker, its first since 2020.
