Samsung yesterday revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will get the stable Android 13 update next month. While we don’t yet have the precise date, the company is hard at work on readying the update. It has just rolled out a new Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta build to the foldable.

This is the second beta release since the Korean firm opened the One UI 5.0 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 last week. The latest update is rolling out in India with a firmware version ending with ZVJF (via). The OTA (over the air) package weighs 717.11MB in the region and bundles the November security patch. But more importantly, Samsung has eliminated several known bugs from the first beta release.

According to the official changelog supplied by Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is picking up a fix for the Secure Wi-Fi error with the latest Android 13 beta. The Korean firm has also fixed the bug that caused the Home icon and the navigation bar to disappear. The issue with Bixby Routines failing to work properly has been fixed as well.

Additionally, this beta update gets rid of several other bugs on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The changelog mentions fixes for black screen and app icon issues when unfolding the device. Some camera issues have also been fixed. There may be more bug fixes not mentioned in the changelog. This is in addition to the vulnerability patches for next month. Unfortunately, the November SMR (Security Maintenance Release) has yet to roll out to any other device and we don’t know its content.

Nonetheless, if you’ve enrolled your Galaxy Z Fold 4 in One UI 5.0 beta, you should soon receive the latest release. It will arrive as a regular software update over the air. You can wait for a notification or manually check for it from the Software update menu in the Settings app.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will get the stable Android 13 update in November

Samsung released the stable Android 13 update to the Galaxy S22 series earlier this week. The company is now readying the new Android version for other eligible devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The new foldable will pick up the update in November, along with the likes of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, and more. We will let you know when the rollout begins for each of these devices.
