Samsung is pushing a new update to its note-taking app Samsung Notes. The latest version of the app (v4.4.08.55) adds a new widget option called Note List. It already offers three more widgets, namely Note Creator, Note Shortcut, and Single Note.
Note List does what its name implies. It will show a list of notes on your Galaxy device’s homescreen, giving you quick access to them. According to SamMobile, which first reported this Samsung Notes update, the new widget displays all of your recently created/edited notes. The list includes the title and a thumbnail for each note. It also shows the last edited date.
By default, Note List has a 5 x 2 size. But like most other Android widgets, the latest Samsung Notes widget is also resizable. This means you can change it to your preferred size before adding the widget to your homescreen. Keep in mind that making it too small might defeat the whole purpose of the widget. It’s more useful if you can get shortcuts to multiple notes on your phone’s homescreen.
As said earlier, Samsung Notes already offers the ability to keep a widget with just a single note. Aptly called Single Note, this widget is useful if you frequently open one particular note saved on your phone. It has a default size of 5 x 2 as well, though you can resize it. The Note Creator and Note Shortcut widgets are also self-explanatory.
The latest Samsung Notes update is now rolling out to users
The latest update for Samsung Notes started rolling out to users recently. The company doesn’t seem to have pushed the new version widely. As of this writing, it has only shown up for a few Galaxy users. Rest assured, everyone will get it within the next few days. You can click here to check for the update in the Galaxy Store.
