Earlier this month, we exclusively leaked the official renders of Samsung’s Galaxy A55, an upcoming premium mid-range phone. The company is also working on a Galaxy M55, which will be a less premium model. It appears there will be a Galaxy F55 and Galaxy C55 too. Both of these devices have been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.

Galaxy F55 and Galaxy C55 might be on the way

The Wi-Fi Alliance recently certified two unannounced Samsung phones with the model numbers SM-E556B and SM-C5560. Like the Galaxy F55, which has also picked up the Wi-FI certification, both new devices feature Wi-Fi 6 with WPA3 security and Wi-Fi Direct. That is all we can make from the official listings.

Based on Samsung’s current naming scheme, the two model numbers should correspond to the Galaxy F55 and Galaxy C55. The company already has a Galaxy F lineup—it launched the Galaxy F54 last year—so the existence of the former doesn’t come as a surprise. However, the Korean firm discontinued the Galaxy C several years ago. There has been no model in the lineup since the Galaxy C8 in 2017.

It appears Samsung is reviving the lineup with a new model this year. However, we won’t bet on that just yet. The SM-C5560 could be the Chinese variant of either the Galaxy A55, Galaxy M55, Galaxy F55 or any other upcoming Galaxy device. The “0” at the end of the model number hints at a Chinese unit (global versions have “B”, while the US versions have “U” at the end).

This device also recently showed up on TENAA, a Chinese certification platform. So, that’s another hint at it being a Chinese model, likely of one of the aforementioned three devices. As the Korean behemoth continues its work on these phones behind the scenes, more information about them should surface online. We might be able to link the Samsung SM-C5560 with something more concrete soon.

These phones may arrive in the second quarter of this year

Samsung might launch the Galaxy A55 in April this year, followed by the Galaxy M55 and Galaxy F55. If the Galaxy C55 exists too, it should arrive around the same time as these phones. In the meantime, the company is gearing up for the big unveiling of the Galaxy S24 series later this week. The new flagships go official this Wednesday, January 17 with sales expected to begin at the end of the month.
