Samsung has launched a new M series mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M35. It is a 5G-ready device with a decent set of specs, including a 6,000mAh battery and a 50MP OIS camera. The phone is already available for purchase in some markets. The company may release it widely in the coming weeks.

Galaxy M35 arrives with a big battery & Samsung Knox Vault

The Galaxy M35 is a slightly bulkier variant of the Galaxy A35 Samsung launched in March. It is bulkier because it packs a bigger batter—a 6,000mAh unit instead of 5,000mAh. The new phone has a dimension of 162.3 x 78.6 x 9.1 mm, while the A series handset measures 161.7 x 78 x 8.2 mm. They also differ in weight, with the former weighing 222 grams and the latter 209 grams.

A bigger battery isn’t accompanied by faster charging, though. The Galaxy M35 still only charges at 25W. Meanwhile, Samsung has replaced the under-display fingerprint scanner with a side-mounted one. The company’s press release mentions an under-display solution, but that’s incorrect. The Galaxy M35 is also missing an official IP rating for dust and water resistance (the Galaxy A35 has an IP67 rating).

The rest of the specs carry over unchanged. You get a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Full HD+ (1080 x 2340  pixels) resolution, and 1000 nits of HBM brightness. The phone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1380 chipset, a 5nm solution running at a maximum frequency of 2.4GHz. The company offers the device with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage capacity.

The Galaxy M35 doesn’t come in any other configuration, though it supports microSD cards for expandable storage (uses a shared SIM slot). The device features a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), PDAF (phase-detection autofocus), and 4K video recording. It is flanked by an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro camera. There is a 13MP selfie camera capable of recording 4K videos.

Samsung offers Wi-Fi 6 and NFC support on this phone. A 3.5mm headphone jack is missing but you get stereo speakers. The device ships with Android 14 out of the box and is eligible for updates up to Android 18. It will also get security patches for five years from the launch date. The Galaxy M35 boasts EAL5+ certification and Samsung Knox Vault to protect your sensitive data from attacks.

Price & availability

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy M35 in Brazil. The phone is already available for purchase in the Latin American country in Dark Blue, Light Blue, and Gray colors. It costs R$2,699 (approx. $522, though smartphone prices in Brazil tend to be higher than in the US). You can purchase it through Samsung’s online store and third-party retailers. The company hasn’t announced its price and availability details for other markets.
