Days after quietly unveiling the Galaxy A04, Samsung has launched one more budget smartphone, the Galaxy A04s. The phone was recently leaked with detailed specs, design, and pricing. We now have official confirmation of those details.
Galaxy A04s specs and features
The Galaxy A04s is an entry-level offering from Samsung. It boasts a 6.5-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution (720 x 1,600 pixels) and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device unsurprisingly has chunky bezels around the display, with an even thicker chin. The V-shaped notch houses a 5MP f/2.2 front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
On the back, we have three cameras and an LED flash unit all protruding out of the rear cover individually. There’s no camera bump here. The three image sensors include a 50MP f/1.8 primary shooter and two 2MP f/2.4 cameras for depth sensing and macro (close-up) shots. The phone has its volume and power buttons on the right, with the latter also doubling up as a fingerprint scanner. It should also support face scanning. You should find a USB Type-C port, microphone, speaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
As for internal components, the Galaxy A04s is powered by an unnamed octa-core processor believed to be Samsung’s in-house Exynos 850. It is an 8nm chipset featuring eight Cortex-A55 CPU cores with a maximum frequency of 2.0 GHz. The company is pairing the processor with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device also supports micro SD cards of up to 1TB capacity. Fueling the phone is a 5,000mAh battery that should support at least 15W charging speed.
Other highlights of the Galaxy A04s include Dolby Atmos sound, Android 12-based One UI Core 4.1 software, 4G cellular connectivity with dual SIM support, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, camera autofocus with FHD video recording, and Samsung Knox for defense-grade multi-layered security. The handset comes in Black, Green, White, and Copper color options.
Price and availability
Samsung quietly listed the Galaxy A04s on its official websites for several European countries, including Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. The listings reveal the detailed specs and features of the phone but you can’t buy it yet. Perhaps the company doesn’t even mention the price, though a leak yesterday claimed that the Galaxy A04s will retail for €179 in Europe. That’s for the base variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. We will have to wait for official word from Samsung regarding its pricing structure and global availability.
