Samsing is making it possible to use your Galaxy Watch with your Peloton bike. Today the company has announced that it’s introducing Peloton app integration with its Galaxy Watch devices.
This means you can connect the watch directly to the bike and get more out of your workouts. All while tracking that data on the watch so you can integrate the information seamlessly with your Samsung Health app. Once the feature goes live and the Peloton app rolls out to watches, users will be able to connect to more than just the bike. Samsung says that with this integration, you can connect to the Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread, Row, and Guide.
So there’s some versatility here and it should make the watch quite useful during your rides. According to Samsung one of the main features of this integration is so users can see their heart rate on the Peloton screen during use.
Peloton integration will be available for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5
When the app starts rolling out today and lands on devices, it’ll be available to download on the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 only. If you have an older watch, like the Galaxy Watch 3, you’ll need to upgrade. Unfortunately. Samsung does also point out though that it’s compatible with all Galaxy Watch devices that run on Wear OS 3. So that means it should be available on whatever watch Samsung launches next.
If you have a compatible watch, make sure the Peloton watch app is installed on your watch. Once it is, simply get on your Peloton bike, select and load up a workout, then launch the Peloton watch app on your watch. Give it a few seconds and you should see a prompt come up on both the watch and the bike screen. Verify you want to connect the two and you’re good to go at that point. Once connected, you’ll be able to see your heart rate on the bike screen or on the watch display. Whichever one you prefer.
