The Galaxy C55 has been surfacing in certifications for a while now, and Samsung just quietly announced it. The phone became official in China, and it’s almost the same as the Galaxy M55. There are a couple of differences, though.
The Samsung Galaxy C55 has been announced with a leather back
The Galaxy C55, unlike the Galaxy M55, comes with two new back panels with leather finish, Orange and Black. You can check out both of those models in the gallery below.
You can clearly see that the phone has a flat display with a centered display camera hole. Its bezels are not uniform, but that’s not surprising at this price bracket. There are three vertically aligned cameras included on the back of the device. Those cameras are placed in the top-left corner.
The phone has a frame made out of metal, and all of its physical buttons are placed on the right-hand side. You can clearly see the leather pattern on the back of both of these models and the stitching too.
Samsung opted for a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC here. The company also included 8GB/12GB of RAM, along with 256GB of internal storage. That’s the only storage option, it would seem.
It has a large display, and supports 45W wired charging
There is a 6.7-inch fullHD+ Super AMOLED display placed on the front side of the phone. A 5,000mAh battery sits on the inside too, and 45W wired charging is supported. Wireless charging is not supported at all.
A 50-megapixel main camera sits on the back, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. The third camera on the back is a 5-megapixel macro shooter. On the front, you’ll find a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
The Samsung Galaxy C55’s 8GB and 12GB RAM models are priced at CNY1,999 ($276) and CNY2,299 ($317), respectively. This phone will likely stay exclusive to China. As already mentioned, though, its rebranded variant is available in India already, under a different name, with a different backplate.
