Samsung‘s Gaming Hub for mobile, an all-in-one game streaming discovery platform for Galaxy devices, seems to have gained popularity quickly. The company discussed the platform at the ongoing annual Game Developers Conference (GDC). It says Gaming Hub for mobile is “captivating a wider gaming audience” thanks to the cloud gaming-enabled Instant Plays feature.

Gaming Hub for mobile offers instant play without installation

Launched in 2022, Gaming Hub debuted as a game-streaming platform for Samsung TVs. The company brought it to mobile with the Android 14 update. It merged the service with the existing Game Launcher on Galaxy devices, keeping the best of both and renaming the merged service to Gaming Hub. Since then, the platform has seen an exponential rise in the number of supported games.

During an on-stage session at GDC, Samsung’s Corporate Vice President Jikhan Jung noted that Gaming Hub for mobile is a win for players and partners. It lets Galaxy users pick any game and start playing without waiting to download it. “We know that bringing game streaming with cloud technology to the mobile platform provides a substantial update to the current app store for a more seamless experience,” Jung said.

Samsung believes the platform will “vastly improve mobile game distribution and unlock new opportunities for games to find new audiences.” The company sees Gaming Hub for mobile impacting the industry “in the same way streaming services for music and movies have done.” It could change the way game mobile gamers discover and consume content and publishers think about user acquisition.

Instant Plays are available widely

Interestingly, while Samsung says Instant Plays are currently only available in beta in the US and Canada, we can confirm their availability in India. Gaming Hub on our Galaxy S24 Ultra allows us to stream games without downloading them in India. There are hundreds of games to choose from. You get a selection of games at the top, while you can find more in the recommended section below.

Gaming Hub for mobile also offers a dedicated section for games newly added to Instant Plays. Additionally, you can filter games according to categories or types (one-hand play or two-hand play). A floating sheet at the bottom houses all the games you have played. Your gamer profile appears in the top right corner. You will find your creature collection here. As you progress, you can earn eggs that can be hatched to unlock creatures.
