The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has been announced. It is the company’s new high-end smartphone, which is a part of the Galaxy S25 series of devices. It’s the fourth phone that Samsung announced in that family, following the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. Those three devices were announced in January, when this phone was teased. Well, we had to wait a bit for its full launch, as it was not announced until mid-May 2025.

With that being said, the Galaxy S25 Edge does share the same processor as its predecessor, and some other details. However, it’s thinner, that’s its main selling point. Even though the other three phones are quite thin, Samsung felt like this one was necessary, and decided to thin it up to 5.8mm. That did, however, affect its battery life, which is something we’ll talk about later on. So, let’s get to it, starting with the specs.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge specs

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge does offer rather powerful specs. It comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3120 x 1440) Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. That display supports an adaptive refresh rate from 1-120Hz. It’s protected by the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy fuels the phone, while 12GB of RAM is in offer. You can choose between 256GB and 512GB storage options.

Android 15 is included in the package too, along with Samsung’s One UI 7 skin. A 3,900mAh battery is used here, while the device supports 25W wired charging, 15W Qi wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging aka Wireless PowerShare. Do note that a charger is not included in the retail box, however. The phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it comes with two SIM card slots (nano + nano/eSIM).

Two cameras sit on its back. A 200-megapixel main camera (f/1.7 aperture, 2x optical zoom quality, OIS) is backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit (f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree FoV, OIS). On the front, you’ll find a 12-megapixel selfie shooter (f/2.2 aperture). The phone measures 158.2 x 75.6 x 5.8mm, while it weighs 163 grams.

Where can I buy the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge?

You can buy the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge directly from the company, while it is also available from some retailers, and all the major carriers as well. The device is on offer from the three largest US carriers, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. It will also be on offer from some MVNOs in the States, like Xfinity Mobile. Those of you who were planning to get it from retailers, yes, the device will be available from both Amazon and Best Buy, and others. It will have a rather wide availability in the States, as you’d expect from Samsung’s high-end phone. We’ll leave some purchase links for you below, as they become live.

What carriers does it work on?

Considering that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is in offer from all three major US carriers, there’s really no limit to its compatibility.  You can pick it up from your carrier, and you’ll be good to go. An unlocked version of the phone is also on sale, and it will work across the board, it would seem. So you don’t really have to worry about that, as you can use it regardless of which carrier you’re currently at. The phone will work on AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and their MVNOs as well.

What colors does the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge come in?

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has been announced in three color options. You can choose between Titanium Jetblack, Titanium Icyblue, and Titanium Silver colors. Those are basically black, light blue, and silver colors, if we’re talking in plain terms. Samsung may announce an additional color down the road, but for the time being, you can choose between these three only.

What new upgrades and/or downgrades does the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge have over the Samsung Galaxy S25+?

Price-wise, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge sits in between the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+. Considering that it has the same display size as the ‘Plus’ model, that’s the one that we’ll semi-compare it with here. We’ll highlight some advantages of this phone, but also some disadvantages, as there are two major ones.

Thinner than thin

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.8mm thick, or should I say, thin. It also weighs 163 grams. So it’s both thinner and lighter than the Galaxy S25+… which is also quite thin and light at 7.3mm and 190 grams. I don’t know who asked for even thinner smartphones, as the Galaxy S25+ is immensely thin, but there you go. That is also its main selling point. If you use a case, you’ll certainly appreciate the phone’s thin profile.

An equal member of the Galaxy S25 series

The Galaxy S25 Edge is just as powerful as its siblings. This smartphone is fueled by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, not to mention that it includes 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. UFS 4.0 flash storage is also on offer here. So, in terms of performance, there’s really nothing to worry about.

A 200MP camera… but not the one you think

This smartphone does have a 200-megapixel main camera, but not the one from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Pretty much everyone thought it would be that camera, but it’s not. This is a 1/1.56-inch camera sensor compared to a 1/1.3-inch one inside the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung’s flagship does have the edge here, but this is the same sensor size as the 50-megapixel unit inside the Galaxy S25+.

Same display, better protection

The Galaxy S25 Edge has the same display as the Galaxy S25+. It has a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a QHD+ resolution and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It does, however, come with better protection. The device includes the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.

Battery doubts

This smartphone has a 3,900mAh battery despite the fact it has a rather large 6.7-inch display. The Galaxy S25+, on the other hand, has a 4,900mAh battery. It remains to be seen how good will the battery life be, but… this could be one of the main tradeoffs with this phone.

Limited zoom capabilities

The Galaxy S25 Edge does not include a telephoto or periscope telephoto camera. So, its zoom capabilities are limited. You’ll have to rely on digital zoom from the phone’s main camera, unfortunately. That’s not the case with the Galaxy S25+.

What cases are available for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge?

Samsung listed three official cases for the Galaxy S25 Edge… thus far. You’ll be able to find a Silicone Case, a Kindsuit Case, and a Clear Transparent Case. The Silicone Case comes in Black, Light Blue, and Gray colors, and it costs $39.99 in the US. It is a regular silicone/gel case, as the ones Samsung offers for other Galaxy S25 phones.

The second case that the company offers is the Kindsuit Case. That one comes with a different feel, think something along the lines of Eco leather, or TPU leather. It’s still plastic, but it has a different feel compared to silicone, it’s not completely flat either. That one will set you back $69.99.

The last case on offer is the Clear Case. That is a regular gel case, which is transparent. There’s not much to say here. If you want a soft-touch, simple case, this is the one for you. It’s also the cheapest one here at $29.99.

Should I buy the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge?

Is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge right for you? That’s a question only you can answer. We’ve provided you with a ton of information here, so… you be the judge. In our opinion, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are better options for most people. They offer better battery life and are more than thin enough. Yes, the Galaxy S25 Edge is thinner, but… it really doesn’t need to be as thin. Well, if you’re using a thicker case, you’ll appreciate it, but most people would rather get better battery life, I reckon. It would be a completely different story if the other phones were thick… but they’re not. That’s just our two cents. It’s up to you.
