The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is one of the biggest smartphones on the market. Sporting a 6.8-inch display, with a resolution of 3120×1440. Or about 113.5 centimeters. This is measured diagonally and gives the Galaxy S24 Ultra approximately an 88.5% screen-to-body ratio and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It has an LTPO display which allows it to dynamically change from 1Hz to 120Hz, improving battery life.
Samsung is also including Corning Gorilla Armor on the display, which is essentially a matte display, but it also protects the glass more than previous Corning Gorilla Glass. Galaxy S24 Ultra will continue being updated until 2031
Samsung decided to offer 7 years of updates starting with the Galaxy S24 series. This means that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be updated until 2031. That’s pretty incredible, and does match what Google is offering with its Pixel 8 series and later. Though the first major update, to Android 15 and One UI 7, was pretty long. So many are wondering if Samsung will be able to keep up with 7 years of updates.
Though, Samsung says that this is a sustainability move by the company. That way you can keep your device longer, and help combat e-Waste. Even though, Samsung doesn’t make money by giving you software updates. It makes money when you purchase new hardware. Though, it is possible that Samsung would start charging for some software features. Which is what we’re expecting with Galaxy AI in the next year or so.
