Samsung has launched a new F-series mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy F34 5G. It’s a rebadged version of the Galaxy M34 5G, which debuted last month. The two devices look the same and share all the key specs. They are even priced identically, making us wonder what was the need. But the world’s largest smartphone company surely knows its business, so let’s dive into details.
Galaxy F34 5G specs and features
The Galaxy F34 5G sports a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution (FHD+), 1,000 nits of peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device is powered by the Exynos 1280 processor (5nm chip), paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It supports a microSD card of up to 1TB capacity.
Samsung has equipped the phone with a 50MP primary rear camera featuring PDAF (phase-detection autofocus) and OIS (optical image stabilization). You can capture 4K videos at 30fps (frames per second) with this camera. It boasts several premium photography features as well, including Nightography. There’s also an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro camera at the back. The selfie camera is a 13MP unit and it lacks 4K video recording support, as well as PDAF and OIS.
The Galaxy F34 5G packs a 6,000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. The device supports 11 5G bands, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3,5mm headphone jack. There’s no official IP rating for dust and water resistance, though. The handset ships with Android 13 onboard and will get four major Android OS updates (up to Android 17) and five years of security updates. There are no stereo speakers here but Samsung has included support for Dolby Atmos.
Price and availability
As of now, Samsung has only announced the availability of the Galaxy F34 5G in India. The handset comes in two memory configurations: 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB. They cost ₹18,999 (approx. $230) and ₹20,999 (approx. $255), respectively. That’s the same pricing structure as the Galaxy M34 5G.
The only notable difference is that the former is available in Electric Black and Mystic Green colors, while the latter comes in Midnight Blue, Prism Silver, and Waterfall Blue colors. Samsung is selling the Galaxy F34 5G through Flipkart and Galaxy M34 5G through Amazon. This is in addition to Samsung.com and partner retail channels. The new F-series phone is currently available for pre-order with general sales beginning on August 12.
