Samsung‘s Galaxy A5x series has been hugely successful since the very first model — the Galaxy A50 in 2019. The company has tailored the lineup to offer better value with each succeeding model. Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy A51 and the Galaxy A52 have been among Samsung’s best-selling smartphones in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The Korean brand is now looking to repeat that success with the Galaxy A53 this year. The upcoming premium mid-range offering from Samsung is expected to go official in March. The device has now picked up two important certifications on the way to its launch.

The Galaxy A53 has recently received the necessary approvals from the FCC as well as Thailand’s NBTC. First spotted by MySmartPrice, the device bears the model number SM-A536E in these listings. Prior certifications suggest it will also carry the model number SM-A536B in some regions.

The latest certifications confirmed some of the rumored specs of the upcoming Galaxy mid-ranger. It will be available in both single SIM and dual SIM variants depending on the region. The device will also come with 5G connectivity in some markets. Other notable takeaways include NFC support and 25W fast charging.

The FCC documentation suggests the Galaxy A53 retail box could include a 25W charging adapter as well. That would be nice of Samsung considering how fast those bricks are disappearing from the retail smartphone boxes. Reports suggest the device will pack a 5,000mAh battery.

Other rumored specs include a 6.46-inch Super AMOLED display of Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz screen refresh rate, the Exynos 1200 processor with 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, an under-display fingerprint scanner, Android 12, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.1. The device will feature a quad-camera setup at the back. The primary camera could be a 64-megapixel sensor with OIS (optical image stabilization).

The Galaxy A53 is nearing its launch

Before the FCC and NBTC certifications, the Samsung Galaxy A53 had also appeared in other benchmark and certification listings. From the BIS certification in India to the Bluetooth SIG approval, the device has passed through several required regulatory tests fast. We have also seen it in Geekbench and HTML5 benchmark tests. All these developments suggest the new Galaxy A series phone is nearing its launch. We are expecting it to go official in March after Samsung is done and dusted releasing the Galaxy S22 series flagships globally. We will keep you posted.
