One UI 7 has probably been Samsung’s update with the most bumpy development in years. The Android 15-based firmware has suffered an unusual months-long delay compared to other big brands and previous Samsung updates. However, after much waiting, we finally have official information. Samsung has confirmed the release month of the stable One UI 7 OTA, as well as adding new devices to the beta program.
Samsung will start One UI 7 stable rollout in April
In a blog post, Samsung confirmed that “the official update of One UI 7 will be available starting in April.” The company only says the month in which the rollout will begin but does not add more specific details about the day or the devices that will get it. Anyway, so far, only the Galaxy S24 series has received several beta updates for One UI 7. So, it’s safe to assume that the announcement applies to at least the 2024 Galaxy S flagships.
Galaxy S23, Galaxy Tab S10, and Galaxy A55 will join the program this month
Other models will likely have to wait even longer to receive the new firmware. In fact, the blog post also confirms that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will join the One UI 7 beta program this week (March 6). On the other hand, devices in the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Tab S10 series, as well as the Galaxy A55, will gain access at the end of March.
So far, the Galaxy S24 lineup has received five One UI 7 beta updates. Leaks say that Samsung aims to push out six beta updates before starting the stable rollout. The first version arrived in December 2024, so the program will last about three months. Should other models take the same amount of time, we could be talking about a stable rollout in June for Samsung’s 2024 foldable phones. However, it’s also possible that the firm has already done a lot of the heavy lifting during firmware development on the Galaxy S24 series. Hopefully that’s the case, and the beta program will be shorter on other models.
