Today, REDMAGIC officially unveiled the REDMAGIC Nova Gaming Tablet in China. For the uninitiated, the company teased the same tablet in the last week of August. Now that the tablet is out in the Chinese market, let’s jump into its details.
REDMAGIC Nova Gaming Tablet sports a 144Hz 2.8K display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC
The REDMAGIC Nova Gaming Tablet flaunts a lightweight design and sports a 10.9-inch 2880 x 1920 display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The display has an 840Hz instant sampling rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It features lens-grade water and scratch-resistant aluminosilicate glass as well as an anodized metal back casing for exceptional durability.
This gaming tablet uses Genshin Impact’s super-resolution technology to boost the gaming visual fidelity to 2K. The display panel is SGS-certified and filters out blue light to offer a comfortable viewing experience by reducing the risk of eye strain. On top of that, there’s a custom RGB light feature across the brand logo and the turbofan.
The REDMAGIC Nova is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC Leading Version which boasts a CPU and GPU frequency of up to 3.4GHz and 1GHz, respectively. It uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. Whereas, it runs on REDMAGIC OS 9.5, based on Android 14.
The tablet has an impressive cooling mechanism and AI gaming features
The REDMAGIC Nova also excels in heat management. It incorporates the PAD Cooling System ICE 2.0 which is a 9-layer heat dissipation technology that can reduce the core temperature by 25 degrees Celsius. There’s a 20,000 RPM internal fan, a 3D heat pipe, and a 3D internal circulation air duct under the hood for better heat management.
Additionally, the 29,400mm² dissipation alloy, 9,268mm² superconducting copper foil, 89,114mm² integrated aviation aluminum body, and thermal conductive gel contribute to keeping the device cool and ideal for gaming.
The Nova gaming tablet comes with an intelligent system assistant called Mora which enables custom voice commands and smart language support. It also uses REDMAGIC Cube AI for a better gameplay experience with the help of AI triggers, smart navigators, audio-visual probes, and customizable controls. That’s not all, features like motion sensing to translate device movements allow multi-functional gameplay.
You can also project the tablet’s screen onto an AR/VR headset, use the gaming tablet as a host, or mirror it to a large display for an immersive gaming and multitasking experience.
In addition, the tablet is compatible with different gaming controllers and supports streaming from major platforms like Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Epic. Moving on, the tablet sports dual 0815 large-size x-axis linear motors with 4D vibration for an immersive gameplay experience on gaming apps like PUBG, Asphalt 9, etc.
Other features, price, availability, and colors
The REDMAGIC Nova packs a 10,100mAh battery and comes with 120W of flash charge support. It can be charged halfway to full in just 15 minutes while full charging takes around 45 minutes. You can get a battery life of up to 18.7 hours for usual tasks. However, if you use the tablet solely for gaming, it lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge.
Besides, the DTS:X Ultra supports full-range 3D audio and comes with four symmetrical speakers as well as three in-built microphones. Other features include NFC, fingerprint unlocking, Type-C support for charging, data transfer, audio, and video. Moreover, this tablet also includes a 20-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel rear camera for video calling, photography, and videography.
The REDMAGIC Nova Gaming Tablet is available to buy starting today in China. The gaming tablet is available in two colors (Cyclone and Waterfall) and three configurations. The 12GB/256GB variant comes with a price tag of 3,999 RMB (∼ $565). Whereas, the 16GB/512GB variant costs 4,499 RMB (∼ $635).
Notably, the beefiest variant with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage is available in only Snowfall color. It will set you back by 5,599 RMB (∼ $790). REDMAGIC has also confirmed that it will launch the international version of this gaming tablet on September 27, 2024. So, if you live outside of China, stay tuned.
