Summary: The launch date of the Realme GT 7 has finally been revealed. The smartphone will be introduced on April 23.

Realme has started the countdown for the vanilla GT 7 model, a few months after launching the GT 7 Pro. The Chinese brand revealed the smartphone’s launch date through recently shared teaser posters and confirmed some of its key features.

The Realme GT 7 gets a launch date: April 23

The Realme GT 7 will be introduced in China on April 23. Although it’s not confirmed yet, a global launch event will likely follow shortly after. The smartphone’s most notable feature will be its chipset, as the company has officially confirmed through a teaser poster that the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+.

The GT 7 will be one of the first smartphones to feature this new processor. The device has also successfully passed AnTuTu benchmark tests with its new chipset. Scoring over 3 million points, the device seems to increase competition in its segment. Additionally, it will feature a massive 7,000 mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging.

The phone is expected to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display with narrow bezels, flat edges, and eye protection. It is also said to come with an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for security.

The handset, featuring a plastic mid-frame, is expected to weigh around 205 grams and measure 8.5mm in thickness. It will run Android 15 out of the box.

The Realme GT 7 is rumored to launch with a price tag under CNY 3,000 (around $410), with more details expected to surface as the launch date approaches.

The vanilla model will be an affordable alternative to the Pro variant

The GT 7 will be a compelling alternative for users who find the Realme GT 7 Pro, released in November 2024, too expensive. While the Pro model features one of the most powerful mobile processors, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Dimensity 9400+ in the standard model is still expected to perform well in gaming and daily use.

Finally, the vanilla model has a massive advantage over the Pro variant in terms of battery life. This benefit becomes even more meaningful considering MediaTek’s greater focus on power efficiency with its new chipset.
