The Realme 9 Pro series is coming on February 16 with color-changing design, as the company confirmed the launch event. Realme will announce two smartphones as part of this series, the Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+.

We’re talking about a global launch here, as the phone will be coming to both Europe and India, at the very least. The press event will kick off at 8 AM UTC / 1:30 PM IST. Realme will livestream it via both YouTube and Facebook.

Realme 9 Pro series launch event

The Realme 9 Pro+ will feature color-changing design, maybe even the 9 Pro

Now, you may have noticed I mentioned the so-called “color-changing design” in the title. That applies to the Sunrise Blue Realme 9 Pro+, as it features “Light Shift” design. Its rear panel changes color from light blue to red when exposed to sunlight.

If this sounds familiar, well, that’s because we’ve already seen such tech on the Vivo V23 Pro. In any case, the Realme 9 Pro+ will launch alongside its sibling, the Realme 9 Pro. We’re not sure if that phone will feature the same tech, but it’s possible.

Some details are already known

So, what else do we know about these phones? Well, Realme did confirm some details. The Realme 9 Pro+ will feature a 50-megapixel main camera on the back, with Sony’s IMX766 sensor. It will support OIS. That is the same sensor included in the OnePlus Nord 2.

The device is also said to ship with the MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC. The Realme 9 Pro, on the flip side, will ship with the Snapdragon 695, it has been reported. That device will include a 64-megapixel main camera on the back, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging.

The phones will have flat displays, and will look like modern smartphones, basically. They will look basically the same, and you can check out the design in the featured image above the article.

These two phones will likely be made out of metal and glass, but we’re not sure yet. Their bezels will be quite thin, while a display camera hole will sit in the top-left corner.
