Netflix has just released its fourth new game of 2024 with a fun spin-off to the long-running Tom Clancy Rainbow Six game franchise.

The Tom Clancy Ubisoft game franchise, named after the late prolific author renowned for his military thrillers, began in 1998 with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six and has seen dozens of releases since then, with Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon all residing in the franchise. The franchise is primarily known for its console and PC entries but has released Rainbow Six Mobile for Android and iOS and is also developing The Division Resurgence which you can currently pre-register to play.

“Defuse bombs, free hostages and crush enemies in this unexpected spin on the “Rainbow Six” franchise. Assemble the best squad, save the (smol) world!” reads Netflix’s official logline for the game.

Described as a single-player PvE mobile game, you’ll progress through procedurally generated missions that feature destructible environments and cunning enemies with many challenging objectives. It’ll also have you recruiting new Operators to help your cause.

The game will roll out onto Netflix Games via iOS and Android on February 20th, 2024. Ubisoft Entertainment is behind the game, although we don’t know exactly what studio is behind it.

As mentioned, this is the fourth major Netflix Original game release of 2024, with the others being Money Heist: Ultimate Choice, FashionVerse, and most recently, Pinball Masters. That brings Netflix’s total number of mobile games up to 98, surpassing 100 titles in the months to come (even including the two delisted titles). That’s in addition to the eight cloud gaming offerings.

Other games coming up in 2024 include Braid Anniversary Edition, Chicken Run: Eggstraction, Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, Hades, Katana Zero, Monument Valley, and Paper Trail.

Netflix + Ubisoft

This is just the latest collaboration with Ubisoft, as we mentioned above, and the collaboration works in both directions.

The two companies have released two other games on Netflix games, too, with those being the role-playing action Mighty Quest Rogue Palace, released in April 2023, and Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, released in January 2023. Next up, following Rainbow Six: SMOL, will be an Assassin’s Creed mobile game.

Elsewhere, numerous Ubisoft properties are getting TV and movie treatment at Netflix. Assassin’s Creed is getting a live-action series plus an animated series expected by hailing from Adi Shankar. Splinter Cell is also due for an animated adaptation soon too.
