Customer service reps are supposed to make it easy for customers to get the help they need. However, Verizon reps seem to be giving the carrier’s customers a hard time and aren’t really helping them solve their issues.

Verizon reps are hard-selling

According to a post on Reddit by Redditor Ok_Lake_1168, they went to a Verizon store to see how much it would cost to get two lines. The Redditor says they wanted one for themselves and one for their wife. However, the Verizon rep insisted they had a “better deal” and tried to push four lines.

The rep told the OP they could get four lines for $60. But the reality was that it cost $160. The rep then suggested they could “sell” the other two lines at $50 per line and only pay $60. This left a bad taste in their mouth, so they left for another store. Unfortunately, their experience at the other store was the same. They asked for two lines but still got quoted for four.

Judging from the comments, the OP isn’t alone in feeling that Verizon reps are getting very pushy. Many other comments claim that they have experienced similar pushy sales behaviors from other stores. According to one comment, this is because of the pressure and demand that Verizon places on its employees. So, to reach their targets, these reps have no choice but to push hard.

Verizon isn’t the only one being pushy

That being said, Verizon isn’t the only carrier in the US that is being pushy. As many of you have heard the stories, T-Mobile is just as guilty of being pushy with its customers and employees.

There are many horror stories of T-Mobile’s dreaded T-Life app. The carrier is trying to force the app down the throats of its customers. However, to avoid being seen as pushy, T-Mobile is getting its employees to do the dirty work. For instance, if an employee fails to get a customer to download or use the T-Life app, they must write a report explaining why.

Customers are also complaining that the app has many issues and doesn’t let them do what they want.
