And he is dead set on proving it.
Between his legal battle with the U.K. and his honest admissions of wanting King Charles and Prince William back in his life, one would think Prince Harry’s only goal is to get back to the Royal family and ensure his kids know their roots. But apparently, there was a lot more hounding the duke behind the walls of the palace than negative press and media scrutiny.
There was a time when the mere thought of Prince Harry separating from the Royal family was impossible. Staying away from his brother and his sister-in-law, with whom he shared a strong bond? Nope. However, the scrutiny and injustice he faced in the palace doubled after he married Meghan Markle, and Prince Archie was born, forcing him to take the drastic step he took.
A step for which he was punished by taking away the security he and his family were due to receive whenever they set foot in the U.K., as even if they are not senior royals anymore, he is still King Charles’ son — very much a target for attacks meant to harm the king. Even Prince Andrew — who has brought extreme ridicule to the Royal Family — has not been sidelined like this.
But now, this issue is like “red rag to a bull” for Harry as, according to royal expert Jennie Bond, he believes that the treatment is in retaliation for the failure at the “conspiracy” cooked to ensure he never left the Royals or the U.K.
“He says it is more important than any of his other legal battles. He has a deep-rooted sense of injustice – he believes there was some kind of conspiracy to keep him ‘trapped’ within the Royal Family and to prevent him and his family from leaving the UK. And he seems intent on proving that to be the case.”
As per Bond, Harry desperately wants his children to connect with their heritage even as he remains involved in the other aspects of his life, which may or may not anger his father, like secretly visiting Ukraine. But even as he fights tooth and nail to make the U.K. safe enough for his kids and despite numerous reports of Charles wanting to at least reunite with his grandchildren, the ageing monarch has not lifted a finger in his son’s support so far, unlike for Andrew, whose private security is reportedly being paid for by the king.
