The Project Q handheld is official

Earlier this year Sony was rumored to be making a dedicated handheld that was online only. Said to be called the Q Lite, it would provide players with a way to stream games from their console. Well, Sony confirmed today that device is real, and it’s coming out later this year.

Right now it’s called Project Q. But Sony will no doubt have an official name for it closer to release, and likely just isn’t ready to share that name with the public yet. It’ll be a dedicated device for Remote Play and come with an 8-inch HD screen, sandwiched in between the two sides of a DualSense controller. Complete with DualSense features.

Sony also outed its first-ever PlayStation true wireless earbuds. They’ll come with their own charging case, feature lossless audio, and work with PC, PS5, and mobile.

One of those games is a really old title called Marathon that first came out in 1994. Bungie has said that it’s working on new games and, it turns out the next game to come from the studio will be Marathon.

Marathon will be an online PvP extraction shooter. It’ll also be coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it’ll support both cross-play and cross-save. There is no official release date yet though.

Cayde-6 is back in Destiny 2

If you’re a Destiny player, then you probably remember the moment Bungie set the Destiny world on fire when it killed off one of the franchise’s most beloved and long-running characters. Cayde-6. The hunter vanguard met his untimely end during the Forsaken expansion’s campaign. And some of the player base has never gotten over it. Rightfully so. He was a foundational character in the story and all of a sudden, he was gone. But, is he really?

According to the teaser trailer for The Final Shape expansion that was revealed today, he may not be. By all accounts it looks like Cayde-6 has returned. Although we don’t know just yet, in what capacity. How involved in the story is he? Has he been brought back to life? You can watch the teaser for yourself above and draw your own conclusions.

Bungie is keeping pretty tight-lipped on the details. But the studio has confirmed that actor Nathan Fillion will be reprising his role as the fan-favorite character in The Final Shape. More details about this and the expansion will be revealed during the Destiny 2 Showcase taking place on August 22.
