Google introduced the Pixel Watch 3 at its latest Made by Google event earlier this month. The new smartwatch was unveiled alongside the Pixel 9 series phones and the Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless earbuds. Apart from a bigger display and other improvements, the Pixel Watch 3 is also integrating with Google’s home products. The support for live video streaming from the Nest Cam on the Pixel Watch 3’s screen is one of the new key features.

The integration of the Pixel Watch 3 with the Nest Cam lets you view camera feeds directly on your wrist. Notably, the live Nest Cam streaming feature won’t be exclusive to the Pixel Watch 3. The company has revealed that this functionality will make it to the other Wear OS smartwatches “soon”.

Nest Cam live streaming will be available on devices other than Pixel Watch 3

Google’s new Pixel Watch 3 lets you manage and control the Nest camera from the comfort of your wrist. You can access the live video feed from the Nest Cam and doorbell directly on your Pixel Watch 3. The integration also provides notification on the wearable to check the live camera footage. You can perform quick actions, including 2-way talk and sending Quick Responses.

As of now, all the aforementioned Nest Cam features are available only on the Pixel Watch 3. However, in the updated support pages, Google clarified that live feed and quick actions will be rolled out to other devices soon. These features will be available to the older Pixel Watch series devices as well as other Wear OS-powered smartwatches.

You can communicate with the Nest Cam using the Google Home app on your Watch 3

You can access the live Nest Cam video feed and more from the Google Home app on your Pixel Watch 3. In the app, tap the Camera device tile and select the camera you want to view. Here, you will first get a close-up view that fills your wearable’s display. You can zoom in/out by double-tapping the screen and sliding a finger from left or right to pan around.

There’s a hamburger icon that provides access to 2-way communication by tapping the microphone. It also shows some Quick Responses, including “You can just leave it” or “We’ll be right there”. Soon, all these features will be released to other Wear OS devices like the Pixel Watch 2 and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch series.
