Google is preparing to launch its second-gen smartwatch next month. The Pixel Watch 2 will arrive alongside the Pixel 8 series on October 4. Leaks have already revealed its design and key specs. A fresh leak has now confirmed its color variants and band options.

According to information viewed by DroidLife, the Pixel Watch 2 won’t change things much when it comes to the colorways, both for the case and the bands. Like the original model, Google plans to offer the watch in Gold, Black, and Silver cases. Both LTE and WiFi models will get all three case colors.

The in-box Active band will also be paired like last year. The Gold watch will get a Hazel band, the Black will get an Obsidian band, and the Silver will come with two choices. For the Pixel Watch, those were Charcoal and Chalk. This year, Google will pair it with some version of White and Bay, the report states.

The publication speculates the White version to be identical to either the Chalk or Porcelain band from last year. The Bay option, meanwhile, could be some shade of green or brown. Overall, the Pixel Watch 2’s colorways will largely match those of the Pixel Watch.

The Pixel Watch 2 will get new colors for the Sport band

Google may not be fiddling much with the Pixel Watch 2 case colors and the in-box Active band, but the company does plan to offer new colors for the Sport band. The strap was seen on the wrist of soccer star Megan Rapinoe in a Google ad during the Women’s World Cup in July. The ad featured a Coral variant of the band. The company is also readying it in Hazel, Moondust, Obsidian, and Porcelain colors with multiple size options for each shade.

The FCC certification for the Pixel Watch 2 previously hinted at two new metal straps as well. The American regulatory body tested the watch with a metal mesh strap and a metal slim strap, along with a plastic active strap and a metal link strap. The latter two options are already available for the first-gen Google smartwatch. Of course, all of these watch bands will be compatible with both Pixel Watch models.

There are also hints at Google increasing the charging speed of its smartwatches this year. The 5W charging of the original model is a tad too slow, so that’s a welcome change. We don’t have a precise number to report, though. Thankfully, the official launch of the Pixel Watch 2 is just a few weeks away now. We will keep you posted with all the latest information about the watch as Google prepares for the big fall event.
