The Google Pixel 8a leaks have been pouring for a while now. Evan Blass aka @evleaks just shared a new one. This time around, he’s delivering what seem to be the Pixel 8a promo materials of some sort.
The Pixel 8a promo materials detail the device’s features & more
The images you can see in the gallery below the article seem to show us screenshots of the phone’s website listing or something of the sort. Here, you can not only see the phone itself for the umpteenth time but a bunch of its features.
8 images are included in the gallery below. You’ll notice that AI is in focus of these promo images, as the initial page is filled with mentions of it. You also get to see all four color options here, Bay, Mint, Obsidian, and Porcelain.
Google AI is mentioned, and also the fact that the phone will get 7 years of Feature Drops and Security Updates. That’s something we exclusively leaked recently. On the following pages, features like Best Take, Voice Eraser, Pocket Correction, Magic Eraser, and more are mentioned.
The phone will be IP67 certified, and fueled by the Google Tensor G3 SoC
These images also confirm that the phone will be IP67 certified for water and dust resistance. Google will, unfortunately, once again use Gorilla Glass 3. It is quite dated at this point, and it’s prone to micro scratches, as we’ve found out before. Using a screen protector would be a good idea.
Google is also teasing a “long-lasting battery” for the phone, and wireless charging too. These images confirm that the Google Tensor G3 will fuel the phone, while you’ll find mentions of Google Gemini too.
The Pixel 8a is expected to launch during Google I/O this month. Google I/O is taking place on May 14 and 15, but Google will host its keynote on May 14. That’s probably when this phone will drop, even though the company didn’t confirm it just yet.
