This time around, we’ll be comparing two cousins in the smartphone world. Why cousins? Well, because OPPO and Vivo are sister companies. In this article, we’ll compare the OPPO Find X8 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro. These are two of the most powerful smartphones these two companies have to offer at the moment. Both of them are expected to release ‘Ultra’ phones next year, but until then, these are the top offerings.
Also, we’re not sure if any of those two ‘Ultra’ phones will make their way to global markets. Their predecessors did not. These two smartphones, the ‘Pro’ models, however, have both been launched in global variants. With that being said, we’ll first list their specifications, and will then start comparing them across a number of categories. We’ll compare their designs, displays, performance, battery life, cameras, and audio output. Let’s get to it.

OPPO Find X8 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Design
Both of these smartphones are made out of metal and glass. The Vivo X200 Pro has a flat frame around the phone, with slightly rounded edges. The frame on the OPPO Find X8 Pro is flattish, but not completely flat as the one on the Vivo X200 Pro. Both smartphones also include quad micro-curved glass on the front and back, which means that the glass is rounded on all edges, and drops down towards the body of the phone. That makes both phones a bit more comfortable to hold and use than it would be if the glass was flat.
Both smartphones include a centered display camera hole at the top of their displays. The bezels on both of them are very thin and uniform, and the corner curvature is also quite similar. Both of them have standard power/lock and volume up and down buttons on the right-hand side. They also have a similar placement. In addition to those buttons, though, the OPPO Find X8 Pro also includes the camera shutter on the right and an alert slider on the left.
If we flip them over, you’ll notice two large camera oreos on both smartphones. They both include very compelling cameras. The OPPO Find X8 Pro has four, while the Vivo X200 Pro has three. More on that later. Those two camera islands do protrude on the back, but the Vivo X200 Pro’s protrudes more than the one on the OPPO Find X8 Pro. OPPO actually worked on decreasing the protrusion for this model. I have to admit that I don’t mind the way the Vivo X200 Pro is built in that regard, not at all. That camera bump on the back is an excellent place to anchor your finger and balance the phone. The device is really easy to use because of it.
The two phones are almost the same in terms of dimensions. The OPPO Find X8 Pro is a bit lighter than its sibling, however, around 10 grams, depending on the model. Both of them are also IP68 and IP69 certified for water and dust resistance. They’re both slippery, so do note that using a case may be a good idea.
OPPO Find X8 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Display
The OPPO Find X8 Pro features a 6.78-inch 2780 x 1264 LTPO AMOLED display. That panel is flat, but the glass on top of it is micro-curved on all four sides. The display can project up to 1 billion colors, and it has an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Dolby Vision is supported, as is HDR10+ content. The peak brightness on this display is 4,500 nits, in theory. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 90%, and the Gorilla Glass 7i protects this panel.
The Vivo X200 Pro, on the flip side, includes a 6.78-inch 2800 x 1260 LTPO AMOLED display. That panel can project up to 1 billion colors too, and it has an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. HDR10+ content is supported, as is Dolby Vision. The peak brightness here is at 4,500 nits, in theory. The screen-to-body ratio is a bit higher than what the OPPO Find X8 Pro has to offer, but also around 90%. The display aspect ratio is 20:9, and the Armor Glass protects this display.
Both of these panels are outstanding, to say the least. They’re very sharp, vivid, and have great viewing angles. The touch response is great too, while the blacks are as deep as you’d expect them to be considering these are AMOLED panels. Both of these panels do get more than bright enough when you need them too, and both of them also offer high-frequency PWM dimming and are trying to protect your eyes as well. We’re looking at some of the best displays in the business here.
OPPO Find X8 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Performance
These two smartphones are actually fueled by the exact same chip. The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 fuels both smartphones, which is MediaTek’s latest and greatest processor, a 3nm chip. Both devices offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 flash storage as well. Do note that neither offers storage expansion, however, which is to be expected from flagships in this day and age.
The performance both of these smartphones offer is excellent. People were kind of skeptical about the Dimensity 9400 before it launched, but there was absolutely no reason for it. Both devices offer buttery smooth performance without any notable lag or anything of the sort. That chip is one of the most powerful out there, and day-to-day performance on both phones is outstanding.
Even when we count int truly demanding tasks, such as video processing or gaming, both devices do a fantastic job without overheating or anything of the sort. You can play the most demanding games on both devices with ease, and both of them also have some extra software focus on gaming features, which is also a plus. You cannot go wrong here in terms of gaming, basically.
OPPO Find X8 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Battery
The OPPO Find X8 Pro features a 5,910mAh battery, while the Vivo X200 Pro has a 6,000mAh battery on the inside. Both of those are silicon carbon batteries, and both of them offer more than enough juice for these two smartphones. Both devices offer outstanding battery life, though that will vary from one person to the next. Generally speaking, these are some of the best flagships in terms of battery life on the market.
The OPPO Find X8 Pro managed to provide us with 12 hours of screen-on-time during our recent trip to Bali. It continued to perform really well after that, hitting really high screen-on-time levels. We’ve been using the Vivo X200 Pro for a short bit now, our review is still not out at this point, but the battery life seems to be on par with the OPPO Find X8 Pro. It’s a monster of a smartphone in terms of battery life. You really won’t have to worry about battery life with either of these two phones.
When charging is concerned, they’re both quite compelling. The OPPO Find X8 Pro supports 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The Vivo X200 Pro supports 90W wired, 30W wireless, and reverse wired charging. Both smartphones do come with chargers included in the retail box too. So, they both charge immensely fast and you also don’t have to look for a charger on the side for them, everything is included in the box.
OPPO Find X8 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Cameras
The OPPO Find X8 Pro has four cameras on the back. In fact, it has four 50-megapixel cameras. The main camera is a 50-megapixel unit with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size and an f/1.6 aperture lens. A 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (120-degree FOV, 1/2.75-inch sensor size) is also included, as is a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (3x optical zoom, 1/1.95-inch sensor size). The last camera on the back is the second 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (6x optical zoom, 1/2.51-inch sensor size). Hasselblad is also a part of the package here.
The Vivo X200 Pro, on the other hand, has three cameras on the back with ZEISS optics. A 50-megapixel main camera includes a 1/1.28-inch sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. A 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (119-degree FoV, 1/2.76-inch sensor size) is also included, as is a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (1/1.4-inch sensor size, 3.7x optical zoom). ZEISS T* coating is applied on the lenses here.
Both of these camera setups are actually excellent. The images do have a different style to them when you look at them side-by-side, but both phones can provide outstanding shots. In both cases, the results are detailed, and vivid, with well-balanced shadows. They do a fantastic job with HDR too, and the same goes for low light. The OPPO Find X8 shots are slightly more contrasty, at least in most cases. Periscope telephoto cameras on both sides did an amazing job for us, and even the ultrawide snappers weren’t bad, even though they’re the weakest among the bunch.
Audio
Both smartphones include a set of stereo speakers. Those speakers are plenty loud, and they’re actually quite similar in that regard. The sound quality coming from both is very good, even the lows and the highs sound good.
There is no audio jack on either smartphone. You can always utilize their Type-C ports if you need to connect your wired headphones, though. If you’d prefer to go wireless, Bluetooth 5.4 is on offer here, on both phones.
