Motorola Razr 2025 vs Apple iPhone 14: Design

These two phones do look different, considerably. They’re also completely different types of smartphones, as one is foldable, and the other is not. The iPhone 14 has slightly more rounded corners. Both devices include flat displays with similarly thin bezels. The Motorola Razr 2025 has a centered display camera hole up top. The iPhone 14, on the other hand, has a display notch.

All the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side of the Motorola Razr 2025. Its power/lock and volume up and down keys. The iPhone 14, on the other hand, includes a power/lock key on the right-hand side, while the volume up and down buttons are on the left. There is also the mute switch on the left side. The Apple iPhone 14 has flat frame all around, unlike the Motorola Razr 2025.

If we flip them around, you’ll see even more differences. The Motorola Razr 2025 has a second display on the back, and two cameras included inside of it. They’re located in the top-left corner, and horizontally aligned. The iPhone 14 also has two cameras on the back, in the top-left corner. They’re a part of the same camera island and are placed diagonally. The Motorola Razr 2025 is made out of aluminum and eco leather, while the iPhone 14 combines aluminum and glass.

Apple’s handset is considerably smaller, it’s shorter and narrower. That’s not surprising considering that its display is considerably smaller than the Motorola Razr 2025’s main display. The Razr 2025 does fold, however. The Razr 2025 is 16 grams heavier in comparison. It comes with an IP48 certification for water resistance, while the iPhone 14 is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

Motorola Razr 2025 vs Apple iPhone 14: Display

The Motorola Razr 2025 has a 6.9-inch 2640 x 1080 Foldable LTPO AMOLED panel. That display is flat, and it can show 1 billion colors. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and supports HDR10+ content. The peak brightness is 3,000 nits, while the screen-to-body ratio is around 85%. The cover display measures 3.6 inches, and it’s an AMOLED panel too. It can show up to 1 billion colors, and offers a 90Hz refresh rate. The resolution here is 1066 x 1056, and HDR10+ is supported. The peak brightness is 1,700 nits. This panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus.

Motorola Razr AM AH 12

The Apple iPhone 14, on the other hand, has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel. That display is flat, and it supports HDR10 content. Dolby Vision is also supported, and the peak brightness is 1,200 nits. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 86%, while the resolution here is 2532 x 1170. The display aspect ratio is 19.5:9, and this panel is supported by the Ceramic Shield glass.

All three of these displays are good, but there are some differences. Both displays on the Motorola Razr 2025 have the advantage of having a higher refresh rate than the iPhone 14, not to mention that they’re brighter. All displays are vivid and have good viewing angles. They’re also all more than sharp enough, and the touch response they offer is also good.

Motorola Razr 2025 vs Apple iPhone 14: Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 7400X fuels the Motorola Razr 2025. That is the company’s mid-range 4nm processor, and it’s paired with 8GB of RAM and UFS 2.2 flash storage. That chip is an overclocked Dimensity 7300X from the year before, basically. The iPhone 14, on the other hand, is fueled by the Apple A15 Bionic chip. That is a 5nm processor, and it’s paired with 6GB of RAM and NVMe storage. Neither phone supports storage expansion.

Even considering the age of the Apple A15 Bionic, it’s still more powerful than the Dimensity 7400X. That chip still offers really solid performance for the iPhone 14, and quite frankly, the phone is less stuttery in comparison. Both of them offer good performance in general, however. The Motorola Razr 2025 stutters day-to-day with demanding apps, for example, when you’re opening the camera, like its predecessor did. That does happen rarely, though.

Even when it comes to games, the iPhone 14 is still the better choice of the two. The Motorola Razr 2025 will do a good job, though you’ll be able to see the difference with more demanding games. Granted, neither phone is ideal for high-end games, but the iPhone 14 still has the edge in that department.

Motorola Razr 2025 vs Apple iPhone 14: Battery

A 4,500mAh battery sits inside the Motorola Razr 2025. The iPhone 14, on the other hand, includes a 3,279mAh battery on the inside. Don’t pay much attention to the battery capacity difference, iPhones usually have smaller batteries, not to mention that this phone also has a smaller display than the Razr 2025. Well, a smaller display than the main one on the Motorola Razr 2025.

Both smartphones do offer really good battery life, though. Neither of them will break records in that regard, especially if you’ve been using the iPhone 14 for a while, but both are good. For the vast majority of people, both of these phones should be enough to get them through a full day without the need to charge them. If you’re a power user, however, that may not be the case. There are a number of phones with better battery life out there at this point. On the Razr 2025, the endurance will also depend a lot on how much you’re using the main display versus the cover one.

The Motorola Razr 2025 supports 30W wired and 15W wireless charging. The iPhone 14, on the other hand, supports 23W wired and 15W wireless (MagSafe and Qi2) charging. The Razr 2025 can be fully charged in about an hour, while the iPhone 14 takes about an hour and a half to get there. Neither phone comes with a charger in the box.

Motorola Razr 2025 vs Apple iPhone 14: Cameras

Both of these phones have two cameras on the back, but they’re quite different. Also, the Motorola Razr 2025 can use its rear-facing cameras as selfie cameras due to the cover display. The Razr 2025 includes a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.95-inch sensor size), and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera (1/3.0-inch sensor size, 120-degree FoV). It also has a 32-megapixel selfie camera (1/3.14-inch sensor size) on the main display.

Motorola Razr AM AH 10

The Apple iPhone 14, on the other hand, includes a 12-megapixel main camera (1/1.7-inch sensor size), and a 12-megapixel ultrawide snapper (120-degree FoV). There is also a 12-megapixel selfie camera (1/3.6-inch sensor size) on the front. Both of them do a good job with photos, but they’re not flagship-grade, not at all. The iPhone 14 was not even flagship-grade when it launched, even though the camera held up well.

During the day, they’re both doing a good job, though noise sometimes creeps into the Razr 2025 shots, while the iPhone 14 has problems handling HDR situations. In low light, they’re both okay, but not great. Noise can be an issue on both phones, not to mention that the details in shadows tend to be lacking compared to flagship phones nowadays. All in all, they do a good job, though.

Audio

Both of these phones include a set of stereo speakers. Those speakers offer good sound output on both sides, though the Motorola Razr 2025 speakers are a bit louder. The difference is not huge, but it’s worth noting.

There is no audio jack on either of these two phones. You can connect your wired headphones through their charging ports, however. In the case of the Razr 2025, it’s Type-C, while the iPhone 14 has the Lightning port. Bluetooth 5.4 is on offer with the Razr 2025, while the iPhone 14 supports Bluetooth 5.3.
