Our modern media landscape is pretty much dominated by streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. Paramount+ is one of those services, and it just announced that it reached 32.8 million subscribers. With this news, the company also plans on bundling Showtime Anywhere with the service.
Paramount+ just passed 32.8 million subscribers
Paramount+ might not be the biggest streaming service out there, but 32 million subscribers are nothing to sneeze at. Yesterday, the company announced its subscriber count for Q4 of 2021 and it shows that the streaming services are steadily growing. While it’s not quite as big as Netflix or Hulu, Paramount+ is still ahead of some of the other notable streaming services like Peacock, ESPN+, and Discovery+.
The company has good news for Showtime fans
Paramount Global (previously ViacomCBS) is going to be making some changes as far as the streaming service Showtime Anywhere is concerned. The service is more than a decade old, and it costs $10.99 a month. With it, you get access to certain movies and exclusive content.
However, with news of Paramount+’s growth, it seems that the company has some plans for the service. Now, instead of paying for the service alone, Showtime Anywhere will now be bundled along with Paramount+. The bundled pair will cost $12 a month for the ad-supported plan and $15 a month for the ad-free plan.
The company will be focusing on seamless integration. This will make it so that users won’t have to create two separate accounts. Everything could be accessed through the Paramount+ app.
Also, in the near future, Paramount+ will be the exclusive platform to watch Paramount movies and shows. This is projected to happen sometime in the year 2024.
What can you watch with Paramount+?
Paramount+, much like Disney+, is a streaming service that encompasses the company and its subsidiaries. With Paramount+, you can access content from Nickelodeon like the SpongeBob SquarePants movie Sponge On The Run, Paw Patrol: The Movie, and The Loud House. Also, you can get content from Comedy Central, BET, CBS, and MTV.
If you are a fan of Star Trek, Star Trek Discovery is streaming along with Star Trek Picard. Those who love South Park will want to see the movie South Park post-COVID.
There are also other movies like A Quiet Place II, Interstellar, The Transformers Movies, and many more. Paramount+ starts at $4.99 a month, and there is a 7-day free trial for new members.
