The first-generation Google Pixel Watch (review) is now receiving the much-awaited Do Not Disturb (DND) and Bedtime Sync modes. This brings the original smartwatch from the search giant on par with the Pixel Watch 2 which packs those features. Google had already confirmed that these features would make their way to the Pixel Watch with the December Feature Drop update.
Original Pixel Watch gets DND and Bedtime Sync
The DND and Bedtime modes debuted on the current-generation Pixel Watch 2 frustrating users of the original model. Despite announcing the functionalities for the first-generation offering in mid-December, users are just now starting to notice them. As spotted by 9to5Google, a new server-side update is rolling out that brings the feature to the Pixel Watch.
The Do Not Disturb and Bedtime modes appear automatically on the Pixel Watch. The publication notes that syncing this feature between the smartwatch and Pixel phone is turned on by default when they are connected via Bluetooth. Users can also find the newly available feature on the smartwatch’s companion app’s Notification settings. It is toggleable and can be disabled at any time. Pixel Watch owners who haven’t received the feature can expect it to show up on the companion app in the coming days.
The latest DND and Bedtime mode arrives after the Watch Unlock and At A Glance features that were released in December and October respectively.
What is DND and Bedtime mode?
The DND and Bedtime mode is a convenient feature on the Pixel Watch. It silences all notifications excluding alarms, priority calls, and repeat callers. The mode also automatically syncs both modes on the Pixel phone and watch. The functionality eliminates the hassle of tweaking settings on each device separately.
