Hilary Swank Has Called Ordinary Angels a “Beautiful Story”
Hilary Swank returns to the big screen with Ordinary Angels, with the Oscar-winning actress and star of such critically acclaimed movies as Million Dollar Baby and Logan Lucky revealing why she was drawn to this true-life tale of faith and miracles.
“I was drawn to this beautiful true story because it’s such a powerful reminder that angels reside everywhere among us,” Swank previously said of Ordinary Angels while speaking with TODAY.com. “And that faith, hope, grit and positivity are all powerful fuel for miracles.”
Swank’s co-star Alan Ritchson meanwhile, whose star has quickly risen following roles in the likes of the Amazon series Reacher and the blockbuster action sequel Fast X, revealed that Ordinary Angels resonated with him and his positive outlook.
“I’m an optimist,” the actor said. “I believe the best in people. I believe that sometimes we just need to be reminded of the power of what we can do together. This is why I was drawn to ‘Ordinary Angels.'”
As for director Jon Gunn, he felt compared to share the message of Ordinary Angels with the world. “The story of Sharon Stevens and the Schmitt family is a powerful reminder that helping others is how we heal ourselves,” the filmmaker said. “I can’t think of a message I’d rather share with the world right now, and I’m honored to be telling it with such a fearless and talented cast.”
Ordinary Angels is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on October 13, 2023.
