OPPO is readying a new high-end Android smartphone with a one-inch camera sensor. The device will reportedly launch in February as the Find X6 Pro. It will arrive alongside the vanilla Find X6 and another Pro model with slightly different internals.
According to the leaked information shared via Weibo, the OPPO Find X6 Pro will come in two processor variants. One will get Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, while the company will equip the other with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200. The Snapdragon variant will get Sony’s 50MP IMX989 camera at the back with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). The Dimensity model will also feature a 50MP primary rear camera, but it’s the Sony IMX890 sensor. The latter camera has a much smaller footprint of 1/1.56 inches.
The two OPPO Find X6 Pro variants will also differ in a few other areas. The Snapdragon model will get the latest LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, while the Dimensity variant will settle for the previous-gen solutions: LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The rest of the internals appear to be the same, though. Both options will give you a huge 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. You will also get the same 32MP selfie camera (Sony’s IMX709 sensor).
The 50MP primary shooters on the back will be flanked by two more 50MP cameras (ultrawide and zoom). These are the Sony IMX890 sensor too. OPPO is also offering a 3D time of flight (ToF) sensor and a 13-channel color sensor on the phones. The Find X6 Pro will come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Other highlights of the upcoming high-end OPPO phone include an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and NFC support.
The OPPO Find X6 will get comparatively modest specs, including the camera
Part of the OPPO Find X6 lineup is a vanilla model that boasts comparatively modest specs than the two Pros. It will feature Qualcomm’s previous-gen Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The selfie camera is unchanged while the primary rear camera is also borrowed from the Dimensity-powered Pro model. But the other two 50MP cameras at the back are Samsung’s ISOCELL JN1 and Sony’s IMX763 sensors. The 3D ToF and 13-channel color sensors are found here as well.
Coming to the display, this model gets a slightly smaller 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with the same resolution and refresh rate. It also degrades to a 4,800mAh battery that is limited to 80W wired and 30W wireless charging. According to the new report, the OPPO Find X6 lineup will go official sometime next month. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have a precise date. We may see more leaks about the phones in the coming weeks.
