OPPO Find N5 will weigh less than its predecessor

Let’s take things one step at a time. First, Digital Chat Station, one of the best-known tipsters out there, shared some of the OPPO Find N5 specs. We’ve seen most of that info already, but one specific thing jumped out, the phone’s weight.

The tipster said that the phone will weigh more than 219 grams. Unrelated to that, a user on Weibo wondered if the phone will weigh less than 230 grams. The chief of OPPO Find, Zhou YIbao, responded to that comment by saying “do you want to be within 230?” (machine translation).

It will weigh less than 230 grams

This is quite clearly an indication that the phone will weigh less than 230 grams. The thing is, we don’t know how much less than that, the more the merrier, though, of course.

As a reminder, the glass variant of the OPPO Find N3 weighs 245 grams, while the vegan leather model weighs 239 grams. So this will be an improvement regardless of the exact weight.

For comparison’s sake, the glass model of the HONOR Magic V3 weighs 230 grams, while the vegan leather model weighs 226 grams. The OPPO Find N5 could trump that weight, but we’ll have to wait and see.

The device is coming in February

The OPPO Find N5 is coming next month. The phone will launch in both China and global markets in February, as it was teased through both Chinese and global social media channels.

It was also confirmed that the phone will support 50W wireless charging. That’s a huge upgrade over no wireless charging on the Find N3. The phone will support 80W wired charging too, which is also an improvement over its predecessor.
