There’s been a lot of hype surrounding OPPO’s next foldable device, the Find N5. OPPO has been steadily releasing images showing its thinness compared to other products like the iPad Pro (M4), iPhone 16 Pro, and even magazines and quarters. It’s an incredibly thin phone, and is being called “thinnest in the world” by OPPO.
So when will it launch? Well, OPPO has now confirmed on Weibo that it will launch in two weeks. But that’s not all, it will launch in China and globally, simultaneously. That would make the first time that OPPO has done this. Typically, it will launch in China first, with the global launch coming a bit later on. This is how it should be done, not staggered launches.
OPPO Find N5 set to be first smartphone with 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite
The Find N5 is also set to be the first smartphone using the new 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite, which Qualcomm quietly listed on its site recently. This new processor is the same as the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite, however it is using just one Prime core, instead of two. This is aimed at foldable devices, which don’t have as much space for heat to dissipate.
Additionally, the Find N5 is said to have triple 50-megapixel cameras once again, including a periscope telephoto sensor. OPPO is reportedly going to use telemacro on the Find N5. Meaning that instead of using the ultrawide sensor for macro shots, it will use the telephoto lens. This is actually a much better option, as it allows you to be further away, instead of up close and blocking light. Additionally, telephoto lenses are typically much better than ultrawide.
OPPO has not shared pricing on the Find N5, however the Find N3 was priced at €1,650 in Europe. So we’d expect a similar price this time around. Though it would not surprise us to see it increase in price, since the Find N3 was released in 2023, and inflation has gone up quite a bit since then.
