Following the delay in rolling out the November security update for the OnePlus Nord 2, the company is now sending the December 2021 security patch for the device. The manufacturer claims this new security patch also resolves some “known issues” with the smartphone while improving “system stability.”

Users can further expect some video recording improvements when AI Video Enhancement is enabled (via Android Authority). OnePlus is also fixing a bug that led to unclear phone calls when paired with Bluetooth devices.

If the update notification hasn’t hit your Nord 2 yet, you can pull it manually by navigating to Settings – System – System updates. This security patch introduces the firmware version OxygenOS A.15.

A recent security vulnerability on the OnePlus Nord 2 allowed attackers to access the root shell of the device without enabling USB debugging. Fortunately, OnePlus fixed this particular vulnerability with the November 2021 security update that began rolling out this month.

A recent leak revealed the hardware specs of the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 CE

The Nord 2 was officially launched in July. According to new reports, the company is now preparing for the arrival of the Nord 2 CE. While there’s no word on a potential release date for this device, it’s likely a few months away. A recent leak gave us some information on the hardware specs of the smartphone.

OnePlus’ latest offering will reportedly feature a 6.4-inch fullHD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G chipset. The phone will be available with 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage and 12GB of RAM + 256GB of storage space.

In the camera department, the Nord 2 CE will pack three rear cameras comprising a 64-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. OnePlus will also utilize a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with the device. Expectedly, the phone will also bring an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Nord 2 CE could also offer a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature that’s lacking on the standard Nord 2. Android 12 will run by default with the company’s OxygenOS 12 skin. Lastly, the new mid-ranger will have a 4,500mAh battery backed by 65W fast wired charging. OnePlus could also offer a charging adapter with the smartphone.
