Recently, OnePlus pushed the latest December 2021 security update for a bunch of its devices. Notably, the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and the Nord 2 are the phones that were served with the latest security patch. Now latest report confirms that the OnePlus 8T has also joined the bandwagon.

According to the official forum post, OnePlus has announced the rollout of the incremental update for the OnePlus 8T. This new update brings a bunch of changes for the system as well as bumps the security patch level to December 1, 2021.

To recall, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 8T series phone back in October 2020. It was basically a more upped version of the already existing OnePlus 8 series phones, bundled with a refreshed design.

OnePlus 8T came powered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G processor coupled with 8/12GB of RAM. Under the hood, it was juiced by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.

On the software side, the OnePlus 8T came Android 11 out of the box. Moreover, the device is in line to pick up the Android 12 update, but for that to happen, you need to wait for a while.

OnePlus 8T December update carries the same changelog as the update for the OnePlus 8 series

Talking about the new update that brings December 2021 security patch for OnePlus 8T, it arrives with firmware version 11.0.11.11.KB05DA for Indian units and 11.0.12.12.KB05BA for European units.

The changelog is the same as the December update for the OnePlus 8 series. As per the official changelog, the update optimizes the UI of the Settings menu.

Further, it fixes the Google Assistant and GPay doesn’t display as expected in the Setup Wizard issue. The update also fixes the problem of WhatsApp crash experienced by some users on their OnePlus 8T units.

As usual, OnePlus is pushing the update for the OnePlus 8T via OTA in batches. Meaning it won’t be live for every device at once. If the update notification hasn’t arrived for you, then you probably need to wait.

However, you can also manually check for it. In order to do that, simply head over to the Settings > System > System Updates. The system will check for a new update on its official servers, and if it detects one, it will prompt you to download and install the update.

We advise you to download the update on stable mobile data or a Wi-Fi connection to avoid any issues during download process. For more information about the update, you can head over here.
