The OnePlus 13 could ship with an even larger battery than its predecessor. The device is tipped to include a 6,000mAh battery. As a reminder, the company’s current-gen phone, the OnePlus 12, has a 5,400mAh unit.
The OnePlus 13 could get a notable battery boost
Even that 5,400mAh battery is quite large considering today’s standard for large Android smartphones. So, this 6,000mAh battery, if it ends up being included, will certainly be welcomed.
The OnePlus 12 offers great battery life, based on our experience. In all honesty, a larger battery is not needed, but it can never hurt. If we end up getting even better battery life because of it, why not?
This information comes from a tipster, ‘Smart Pikachu’ published the news via Weibo. He did add that the OPPO Find X8 series and the Realme GT6 Pro will get the same benefit. So those phones are also expected to get a 6,000mAh battery.
Will this increase the weight of the devices? Well, yes, probably, but not by much. The companies could even end up using Silicon Carbon batteries, which is realistic if they plan to include a 6,000mAh unit. They offer higher density. So essentially higher capacity in a smaller form factor.
Its predecessor has a 5,400mAh unit
The OnePlus 12 has a 5,400mAh battery and weighs 220 grams. The HONOR Magic6 Pro (glass variant) includes a 5,600mAh unit and weighs 229 grams. Do note that the Magic6 Pro also has a silicon carbon battery, and the two devices have different internals, which also plays a role in the weight department, of course.
The point is, that the OnePlus 13 doesn’t need to be too heavy in order to include a 6,000mAh battery. If that ends up happening, it will be heavier, though, for sure… but probably not by much.
The device will also offer extremely fast charging. The current-gen model offers 100W wired, 80W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. OnePlus’ next phone will either mimic that, or improve upon it.
