The OnePlus 12R has received a new update that adds system improvements, the March 2025 security patch, and privacy features. The latest update, marked as OxygenOS 15.0.0.701, has started rolling out in India. It will be available in other markets soon.
OnePlus 12R gets security, privacy, and system boosting update
One of the biggest additions in the OxygenOS 15.0.0.701 update for the OnePlus 12R is the March 2025 security patch. The patch removes security vulnerabilities in the system, making the smartphone more protected against attackers.
The update adds Privacy Center to Phone Manager. The new feature improves privacy by reviewing app permissions and offering the option to revoke them. Users will get notifications when an application accesses their location while running in the background for three days. This will let them change their location permission settings. It also brings an option to disable ad tracking for all apps.
The update makes several changes to the UI. Folders on the home screen can now be resized by dragging them to 1×2 or 2×1. Other than that, the dock can now display five apps, even if the home screen is set to display four apps per row. Animations for notifications and Quick Settings have also been improved for smoother performance.
Smart Cars now supports Android Auto
OnePlus 12R’s update does not forget car owners. With the latest addition, Smart Cars now supports screen mirroring and allows casting while in Simple mode. It is stated that this feature is currently only supported by some ICCOA-compliant vehicles. Smart Cars now also has Android Auto support outside of China.
The update also improves Wi-Fi connectivity for a smoother experience while watching live streams or making video calls in various apps.
