OnePlus has officially announced its new flagship, the OnePlus 10 Pro. The device launched in China first this time around, and the global launch will follow later on. It will probably launch in February or March, we’ll see.
In any case, the global model will look the same, and it will have the same specs, for the most part. So, this launch does give us a great idea of what to expect on a global stage as well.
The OnePlus 10 Pro has been announced in two color variants
The device launched in two color variants, the Volcanic Black and Emerald Forest. Despite the fact it seemed like the Volcanic Black model may have a sandstone black, or something like that, that’s not the case. Both of these phones are made out of metal and glass.
As you can see, their rear camera design is inspired by Samsung, to a degree. It looks different from what Samsung did on the Galaxy S21 series, but the camera housing expands from the frame, as on the Galaxy S21 series.
The OnePlus 10 Pro has really thin bezels, and a display camera hole in the top-left corner. Its display is curved, it measures 163.2 x 73.6 x 8.7mm. So, it’s not a small phone, but at least it’s not too wide. It weighs 197 grams, by the way.
Qualcomm’s most powerful processor fuels it
The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC to date. In addition to that, it includes 8GB or 12GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB of storage. The first RAM model comes in both storage options, while the 12GB RAM model includes 256GB of storage.
A 6.7-inch QHD+ display is used here, and it’s a 120Hz Fluid AMOLED display. That’s an LTPO display, and a second-gen one at that. Its refresh rate goes from 1Hz to 120Hz.
80W wired, and 50W wireless charging is included
A 5,000mAh battery powers the phone, and it supports 80W SuperVOOC wired, and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. On top of that, reverse wireless charging is also supported. As you can see, OnePlus started using the ‘VOOC’ branding, which is OPPO’s charing branding.
There are three Hasselblad cameras included on the back of this phone, and one on the front. A 48-megapixel main camera is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit, and an 8-megapixel tertiary camera, which is a telephoto unit. A 32-megapixel unit can be found on the front. You can get more spec details in our specifications article. Hasselblad Pro Mode is on offer here, by the way, and there are some new camera features, such as Movie Mode.
Android 12 comes out of the box, though the global model will offer different software, of course
The phone does have stereo speakers, and supports Bluetooth 5.2. Android 12 comes pre-installed on the phone, with ColorOS 12.1. Oxygen OS 12 will come pre-installed on the global model.
The alert slider is once again included on the phone. That being said, the 8GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage costs CNY4,699 ($740) in China. That same RAM option with 256GB of storage is priced at CNY4,999 ($785). The most expensive model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs CNY5,299 ($830). Needless to say, the OnePlus 10 Pro will be a bit more expensive globally.
