Samsung‘s software team has been busy lately. Alongside the regular monthly security patches, the company is pushing the One UI 6.1 update to eligible Galaxy devices. As more devices receive the May patch, the new One UI version expands to more models. It recently landed on the Galaxy A52, Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro, Galaxy A15 5G, Galaxy A14 5G, Galaxy F54, and Galaxy M53.
Galaxy A52 and other devices get Samsung’s One UI 6.1 update
As of this writing, Samsung is rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy A52 in the US. The update is available for carrier-locked and unlocked units with the firmware build numbers A526USQUCGXE1 and A526U1UEUCGXE1, respectively. Like other mid-range models, the device doesn’t have any AI features. However, One UI 6.1 brings other new features and enhancements.
The Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro is picking up the same update in Europe. The new build number for this rugged Android smartphone from Samsung is G736BXXU5EXD5. It has a similar changelog as the A series mid-ranger, so do not expect AI features. The same goes for the Galaxy A15 5G, which is currently getting One UI 6.1 in the US. Its build numbers are A156USQU1BXDA and A156U1UEU1BXDB.
The One UI 6.1 update for its predecessor, the Galaxy A14 5G, is available widely in most global markets. The budget handset is picking up firmware version A146PXXU7DXD3 with a handful of new features and improvements. The Galaxy F54, which saw a limited release in India and a few neighboring countries, is getting those features with the build number E546BXXU4CXDC.
Lastly, One UI 6.1 is now available for the Galaxy M53, another phone with a limited release, though not as limited as the F series model. The updated firmware build number for the device is M536BXXU5EXD3. If you are using any of the Galaxy devices, the latest feature update should be available to you soon. Users in some regions may have to wait longer than others, though.
All of these devices are getting the April security patch
We may soon step into the final week of May, but Samsung hasn’t bundled this month’s security patch with One UI 6.1 for any of these devices. All of them remain on the April patch. Since most budget and mid-range devices do not get monthly security updates, the company may skip the latest release for them. It may roll out a newer security patch later on. You can always check for new updates from the Settings app.
