NVIDIA today is expanding its lineup of 40-series GPUs with the GeForce RTX 4060 family of graphics cards. This includes three models, all of which will be available in the near future.
The RTX 4060 will start at $299, which is a pretty compelling price for anyone working with an older RTX 2060 or GTX 1060 GPU. NVIDIA will also be releasing two variations of the RTX 4060 Ti. One with 8GB of RAM and another with 16GB of RAM.
Interestingly, NVIDIA is only making a Founders Edition version of the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB model. While all three models will have cards coming from NVIDIA’s partners including ASUS, PNY, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, MSI, ZOTAC and more. Like the 4070, 4080, and 4090 family of cards before them, the 4060 family is based on NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace architecture featuring DLSS 3. Which means access to AI-powered frame rate enhancement and other graphical benefits.
NVIDIA will begin selling RTX 4060 GPUs on May 24
Although NVIDIA has announced all three models of the card today, they aren’t all going on sale at the same time.
NVIDIA will start first with the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB model. Which goes on sale May 24 and will be available in both partner variants and a limited Founders Edition design for $399. The other two cards won’t be available until sometime in July. Prices for the RTX 4060 cards will start at $299, while the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB will start at $499.
Consumers should be able to find all three card models at retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg and others who sell PC components. Although the Founders Edition cards will be available directly through NVIDIA. That being said, don’t expect stock of the Founders Edition cards to last long. As they never do.
NVIDIA will also be running a promotion using the hashtag RTXOn where it gives away 460 RTX 4060 and RTDX 4060 Ti GPUs. So if you don’t feel like spending the money you could always try your hand at winning one.
