The upcoming iPhone SE model, also known as the iPhone SE 4, is expected to arrive as early as the beginning of 2025. This is something that Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared in his new report.
A brand new iPhone SE model is coming at the beginning of 2025
This will be a direct successor to the iPhone SE 2022 aka iPhone SE 3. It will be a much different offering, though. All iPhone SE models thus far were based on the iPhone 8, which is very dated at this point.
With the iPhone SE 4, Apple is finally aiming to update its design. Mark Gurman says that the iPhone SE 4’s design will be based on iPhone 14. That is contrary to some other reports which said it will be based on the iPhone 16.
In any case, the iPhone 8 hardware will be enlarged, and updated in a number of ways. The home button will be ditched, as will those chunky bezels. The display will be much bigger than it was, and so on.
Its price tag could be around $500
The source says that the iPhone SE 4 could be a “hot seller” if Apple manages to get the price down to around $500. Considering that the phone will be based on the iPhone 14, you can expect it to have a display notch.
On top of that, several reports claimed that it will have only one camera on the back. That is easily possible considering that the previous models had only one rear camera and the fact that Apple needs to keep the price tag in check.
Mark Gurman did add that you can expect Apple Intelligence to be a part of the offering, though. Based on what we know thus far, not only will Apple announce the iPhone SE 4 next year, but a brand new iPhone 17 sub-model.
The iPhone 17 Air aka Slim is coming along with the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The ‘Plus’ model will become a thing of the past based on what we know at the moment.
