The new fastest-charging smartphone will launch on February 9. This handset is coming from Realme, and we’ve already mentioned it recently. The phone in question is the Realme GT Neo5, and it will support 240W charging.

Now, as Realme is OPPO’s sister brand, it uses OPPO’s technology. The charging tech that will be used here was presented by OPPO last year, and it’s the company’s SuperVOOC charging.

Do note that this phone will launch in China first, it would seem. Realme confirmed its arrival on February 9 via a poster you can see below this paragraph. You can clearly see the phone’s name, charging speed, and the date.

This handset will likely make its way to global markets, though it remains to be seen if it will offer 240W charging. A 150W variant was also mentioned, so it remains to be seen what is Realme planning.

Having said that, we do have some spec info regarding this phone. It may actually arrive in two SoC variants. Both the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and MediaTek Dimensity 8200 models were mentioned in the past.

A model with 150W charging is also a possibility

The later model will support 150W charging, if the rumors are any indication. So, only the Snapdragon model will offer the fastest charging in the world.

In addition to that SoC, Realme will likely utilize a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. That display will offer a resolution of 2772 x 1240, according to rumors.

Now, a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX890 sensor) will sit on the back of this phone. That is the same camera the OPPO Find N2 features, and it was also used in the Reno9 Pro+ smartphone.
