Another month means more Netflix departures. While that mostly means licensed movies and series rotating out of the library, we’ll also see one of Netflix’s earliest movies depart the service with Win It All set to leave early in the month globally.

Win It All came to Netflix in 2017. It is the 31st Netflix Original movie to land exclusively on the service and the 30th English-language Netflix Original title. First premiering at SXSW, the movie was one of two movies Netflix showcased that year alongside The Most Hated Woman in America.

The movie was directed and written by Joe Swanberg, and it served as his first significant project for Netflix. He later collaborated with Netflix on two series, one of which was Love and the other, Easy both running for multiple seasons.

The independent movie was about a gambling addict called Eddie desperately trying to rebuild his life after a major loss but an old friend gets him back into old habits. The film starred Jake Johnson, Aislinn Derbez, Joe Lo Truglio, Keegan-Michael Key, and Nicky Excitement.

Having been on Netflix since 2017, the movie’s time on the service globally looks to be coming to an end. A removal notice now displays on the movie page listing that your “Last day to watch” is April 6th, with the actual removal planned for April 7th.

Why is Win It All leaving Netflix?

The Netflix Original library has ballooned since 2013, when they first dove into original programming, with over 4,000 titles making up the library. Despite being Netflix Originals, not all titles will be on Netflix forever. While some will, others have been purchased exclusively for a limited period, and that’s seemingly the case here with the removal lined up for seven years following its addition in April 2017.

It’s worth noting at this stage that all Netflix removals are subject to change, and some of the more significant Netflix Originals that have been subject to removal in recent years did get last-minute renewals or were re-added to the service. Arrested Development and Lilyhammer are perhaps the two biggest that come to mind.

This is one of the first major Netflix Original English-language titles to be removed from the service, with most movies that have been left so far being non-English titles, where Netflix only served as the exclusive distributor in select territories.

Other Netflix Original removals in 2024 so far have included Babylon Berlin, The Valhalla Murders, When Heroes Fly, and Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale.
