Netflix-owned Night School, the studio behind the popular supernatural adventure game Oxenfree, has just announced the official sequel called Oxenfree II: Lost Signals.

Unveiled at this morning’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase, Oxenfree II builds on the mystery and horror-filled intrigue of the original. And it’ll officially be coming to multiple platforms. Including the Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, and PC/Mac via Steam. And of course, the game will also launch on Netflix for mobile devices. Which means you can play both games on Android when the second one launches later this year.

If you’re planning to pick it up on console or PC/Mac, you can actually pre-order the game right now if you like. Though at the moment it’s only available on the Nintendo eShop and the PlayStation Store. The game isn’t yet available to pre-order on Steam, but you can currently add it to your wishlist. That way you will be notified the moment you’re able to pick it up.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals launches on July 12

If you absolutely loved (or even just mildly enjoyed) the first game, then it’s definitely worth considering diving into the second one when it arrives in the near future. Which as it so happens will be on July 12 across all confirmed platforms.

Naturally, the only place you can play it for free is Netflix. If you already have a Netflix subscription, you might want to consider playing it on mobile. Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is set five years after the first game. But it doesn’t appear to be a direct sequel. Night School says it will have an all-new cast of characters and an original story. So you shouldn’t need to play the first title to enjoy the second one.

In addition to the game announcement, Night School has also put out a release date and pre-order trailer that you can view below.
