Motorola has given us some rather powerful devices this year, and it looks like it wants to end with a bang. The company just hit us with a collection of new phones to bring in the new year. Say hello to the new Motorola Moto G15 and other affordable phones.

While Motorola gave us some flagship phones and premium mid-rangers, the company’s money lies in its affordable handsets. A powerful Android software experience wrapped in an affordable package is a compelling offer. Motorola’s Moto G series of phones often bring a nice mix of features at an affordable price.

Along with the Moto G15, the company is also bringing the Moto G15 Power, Moto G05, and Moto E15. So, let’s see what these phones have to offer.

The Moto G15 is an all-around solid phone

We’ve heard of companies changing their naming schemes, but Motorola really threw us for a loop. The company says that the Moto G15 is the successor to the Moto G24. Who knows why Motorola didn’t just call this the Moto G25?

In any case, the Motorola Moto G15 has a 6.72-inch display with a modest 60Hz refresh rate. Today, we’re seeing even cheaper phones sporting at least 90Hz displays. So, this phone already feels a little behind the curve. That screen has a 1080 x 2400 resolution, which isn’t bad.

Powering the phone, we have the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme. While MediaTek has proven that it can produce some powerful processors in the past, the Helio G series consists of some modest chipsets. So, you shouldn’t expect this phone to be a speed demon.

As for the other internals, you have the option of either 4GB or 8GB of RAM. No matter which one you choose, you’ll be locked to 128GB of storage. That’s not too bad, but you’ll run out of space if you download a bunch of large files.

Next, let’s talk about the camera. You’re looking at a 50MP main camera, and this means that it will likely bin down to about 12MP. The camera app will likely have a high-res setting that will let you take pictures in the full 50MP mode.

Luckily, this phone will run Android 15 out of the box. This should come as no surprise, as Motorola’s software is pretty similar to stock Android.

Rounding out the specs, the Moto G15 comes with a decently large 5,200mAh battery. Given Motorola’s track record of launching phones with great battery life, we should expect this phone to last you more than a day.

The Moto G15 Power brings a more powerful experience

The Motorola Moto G15 and the Moto G15 Power are probably the closest in terms of specs. Just like the vanilla Moto G15, the Power edition also has a 6.72-inch display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 resolution. The similarities don’t stop there, as these phones also share the same processor, Android version, and camera tech.

These phones differ in terms of RAM/storage and battery, however. The Moto G15 Power only comes with 8GB of RAM and it comes with 256GB of storage. So, it’s a bit of a more powerful device.

Moving onto the battery, the Moto G Power has a larger 6,000mAh battery. That’s a 15% increase over the Moto G15’s battery. So, you should get a bit more mileage out of that phone. Not only that, but it also supports 30W charging.

The Moto G05 brings some modest specs

Now for the last Moto G of the bunch. This phone will come with a 90Hz display. As for the internals, it will have 4GB and 8GB of RAM. Also, it’ll sport 64GB and 128GB of storage. We also know that it will launch with Android 15 out of the box.

As for the camera, we’re looking at a 50MP main camera. That’s accompanied by an 8MP selfie camera.

The Moto E15 is the baby of the bunch

This phone is a mixed bag when it comes to its specs. Starting off with the display, Motorola didn’t reveal the resolution. This makes us think that the company opted for a 720p display for this phone, though that’s speculation. Unlike the Moto G15 and G15 Power, the Moto E15 runs at a smoother 90Hz. Not only that, but this screen can reach up to 1,000 nits of brightness. This means that you won’t have any issue using the phone in the bright sunlight.

Powering this device, we have the same MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme. Be that as it may, users won’t be getting performance as good as the abovementioned phones. It only comes with 2GB of physical RAM. You can extend it up to 6GB using storage, but you’ll still be pretty limited. So, you’ll see a dip in performance compared to the Moto G phones.

The Moto E15 is a phone meant for the budget market, and its 64GB of storage confirms that. Just don’t expect to play a ton of large games on this phone. If 64GB is enough for you, then you won’t have an issue.

As for the camera, the Moto E15 has a 32MP camera. With 4-1 pixel binning, you’ll be looking at 8MP stills. There’s also an 8MP selfie camera. So, you’ll have some pretty standard camera results with this phone’s camera.

As for the battery, you’re getting a 5,200mAh battery with 18W of charging. Lastly, the Moto E15 will launch with Android 14 Go. So, all in all, this is a pretty standard budget phone. Availability

Motorola will release these phones in select markets in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. At this time, we don’t have pricing information about these phones.
