Motorola’s upcoming foldable smartphone will be called the Motorola Razr+ 2023 after all, its name just got confirmed. The phone got certified over at TDRA and REL, and the aforementioned name got mentioned in the listing.
The Motorola Razr+ 2023 name has just been confirmed
This info was tipped not long ago, even though pretty much everyone expected the phone to launch under the Motorola Razr 2023 moniker. That handset won’t be called the Motorola Razr+ 2023 in China, though.
In the Chinese market, the phone will be called the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. We are looking at the same model number here (Motorola XT2321-3 and XT2321-1), which indicates this is the same phone.
So, Motorola will just use different names for this foldable handset in different markets. It will be known as the Motorola Razr+ 2023 in all global markets, though, so that’s what name we’ll use.
These certifications do not share much information about the device’s specs nor design. However, both of those surfaced already, to a degree, so we know what to expect.
The device will offer 33W charging, and include a 3,640mAh battery
A recent certification confirmed that the phone will offer 33W charging. We also know that it will feature a large cover display, as the phone surfaced in several renders not long ago.
The phone is expected to include a 3,640mAh battery, and it won’t include wireless charging, it seems. A fullHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate is expected. That panel will measure around 6.7-6.8 inches.
Android 13 will, of course, come pre-installed on the device, and we’re hoping Motorola will use LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. Two cameras will be placed on the back of the device.
It’s still not clear what SoC will Motorola use, but the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is expected. The Motorola Razr 2022 launched in August last year, but some rumors claim that this handset may launch sooner this year. It remains to be seen.
