Motorola has been away from the flagship smartphone game for a little while, but the company seems to have returned. It just announced its new Moto Edge+ along with its price and availability. Based on some of the key specs, we can tell that this phone is in the flagship market.
Back in 2021, Motorola didn’t really deliver flagship devices. The last flagships to come from the company were the foldable Razr and the 2020 Motorola Edge. While they were interesting phones, they didn’t quite capture the audience. Unfortunately, the company only offered midrange phones since then.
Motorola’s first true-flagship in years
The Moto Edge+ is one of the first phones of the year to use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Other phones to launch with it include the Galaxy S22 phones. The Moto Edge+ comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, but it’s not expandable. This phone has a 6.7-inch OLED display that can get up to 144Hz. It has a decent 2400 x 1080 resolution.
Moving onto the camera, this phone has a triple-camera setup. The main camera is a 50MP shooter, and it’s accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide/macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. Upfront, the phone has a 60MP selfie camera.
As for the battery, the Moto Edge+ has a large 4,800 battery keeping the lights on. If you need a quick top-up, that battery can be charged at up to 30W. You can also charge it at up to 15W wirelessly.
Motorola Edge+ Price and availability
As for price and availability, the Motorola Edge+ is available to buy today straight from Motorola, Best Buy, or Amazon; it’ll be the unlocked version. The price starts at $999, but there’s a special limited-time promotion going on right now. This promotion takes $100 off of the price.
There’s also a special for Verizon customers. They can get the phone for $23.61/month for 36 months. Also, new customers can get up to $800 off with a qualifying trade-in and an unlimited plan. Existing customers can get up to $700 off of the phone with an eligible trade-in.
