Motorola is gearing up to unveil its Edge 30 series soon. We are expecting at least two models — Motorola Edge 30 Pro and Edge 30 Ultra. There could be a third model as well but not much has been heard about it yet. Meanwhile, the Edge 30 Pro has appeared in one more leak ahead of launch. This time around, we have a couple of renders of the phone courtesy of tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore and MySmartPrice.
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro is said to arrive as the international variant of the Motorola Edge X30 that launched in China last month as the world’s first phone with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. However, according to the new report, the upcoming phone will feature minor differences over it. This includes an under-display fingerprint scanner. The original model has a side-mounted capacitive unit.
Another glaring change that the Motorola Edge 30 Pro will bring is the location of the iconic Moto batwing logo. While we traditionally see this logo towards the center of the back panel, often embedding a fingerprint scanner on lower-cost models, the upcoming device will reportedly have the logo at the bottom left corner. It will be interesting to see how fans react to this change.
The rest of the design remains unchanged from the Edge X30 though. So we will have a centered punch-hole display with fairly thin bezels and a vertically-aligned triple camera setup on the back. The power and volume buttons are on the right while a third physical button sits on the left. Motorola could offer the phone in Black and Pearl White colors.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro possible specs
the Motorola Edge 30 Pro should also retain most of the specs of the Edge X30. After all, it’s a re-branded version of the phone. We are looking at a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor should be supported by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The primary camera on the back is likely a 50-megapixel sensor, flanked by another 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. We will have a 60-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls. Other key specs and features include a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging support, Android 12-based software and NFC support.
While Motorola has yet to announce the launch date for its Edge 30 series, the volume of leaks lately suggests we aren’t too far off from an official unveiling. So stay tuned.
