Netflix has hundreds of TV shows in development at any time, and thanks to IMDb’s MOVIEmeter, we can look at Netflix’s most anticipated shows and movies according to you.

Excluding returning series like Wednesday and Stranger Things, this series focuses on the most anticipated upcoming debut new Netflix series using the MOVIEmeter, calculated based on incoming traffic to individual pages for respective shows. Now, there are a few problems with this data, but we like using it as a litmus test for what people are getting excited about and are actively searching for.

Kicking off the May 2024 list is Hierarchy, a new Korean drama series from Studio Dragon. The series has a strong resemblance to the likes of Elite and follows the Jooshin High School, where the elite top 0.01% of students maintain strict control over law and order, but the arrival of a mysterious transfer student begins to unravel their seemingly invincible regime.

Some major properties are getting animated/anime adaptations at Netflix, and this collaboration sees Production I.G. and Skydance Media team up to bring the character popularized by Arnold Schwarzenegger himself to the big screen.

Originally, we thought that the animated prequel of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead would be released in 2022, but now, two years later, it’s unclear where the heck Lost Vegas is and whether it still exists. Despite that, the show is still showing up on Netflix’s most anticipated list of upcoming shows.

Originally meant to be released in 2023, it’s been a long wait for this new animated series based on the card game that has already come to Netflix as a mobile video game.

The series tells the story of two warring kitties who are actually the God and Devil.

Another book adaptation to feature on this list is Geek Girl, a new series based on the book series by Holly Smale.

The new limited series consists of 10 episodes and follows neurodivergent teen Harriet Manners, who is thrust into the world of fashion and has trouble spinning all the plates she’s got going on in life.

Emma Myers is among the cast of this new mystery thriller based on the book by Holly Jackson. Best known for her role in the Netflix series Wednesday, Myers plays Pip Fitz-Amobi in this new series where she’s investigating the murder of Andie Bell.

Netflix will distribute the show in all regions outside of the United Kingdom, where the BBC will distribute it.

The series’ story focuses on Will, a nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain. He attempts to turn his father’s business around despite an uphill battle thanks to one of his employees, who also happens to be his cousin.
